DO NOT EVER BUY AN AVEO. THEY ARE THE JUNK OF THE JUNK MADE BY DAEWOO. MINE SITS IN THE DRIVEWAY WAITING ON A NEW HEAD DUE TO A BROKEN TIMING BELT IDLER PULLEY. THEY ARE SO BAD THAT THE TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT KIT INCLUDES A NEW IDLER AND TENSION PULLEY. I HATE THIS PIECE A CRAP! I used to be a die hard toyota fan for DDs but that is gradually changing as well. You have to buy one a few years old now to get that Toyota quality. Sux Mazda isn,t covering your claim. I know I would never consider a Mazda here on out as a result of you posting this.

The Malibu's seemed to be really awesome, a new one is about as much as a used Accord or TSX.

My advice, if you are hell bent on getting a domestic get that Malibu, if you can find it used. Or in my experience Honda has always kicked ass. I had the TSX before, wonderful car, my dad is driving it now. My dad also has had a CRV for years now, no issues.

Good luck!

I HAD A NEW HONDA ONCE. I Accidently dropped the clutch and the car stalled. after that, the engine buzzed/vibrated. BUZZED the steering and gas pedal. No one at honda could figure out what was wrong. BUT I DID THAT SAME THING IN A MUSTANG with a V8 and NOTHING broke on the car. MOST OF THE FOREIGN cars are STILL very fragile. YOU CAN'T JUST accidently drop the clutch or something like that. this is why I STAY FAR AWAY FROM foreign cars now (unless i plan in advance to drive it gently like any single thing will break it.)

theres a REASON chevy small blocks are still in production. they are reliable and easy to fix or replace.

Sorry about what happened to your Mazda engine.

Are you guys kidding me????

The camaro is built in CA. Designed in AU. All of which are owned and operated by GM in the USA. GM is an American Company and hence so is the camaro.

I have no problem saying the Camaro is imported into this country... My point was that I won't give a foreign car maker any more of my money because of the way I was treated by Mazda. I've been a life long American car owner until I bought the Mazda... I've since reverted back to only owning American cars.

You can argue the semantics of the word imported... It's still an American car brought to market my an American company.

Now in honesty this all works out nicely cus I just happened to want a camaro at the time I was ready to throw my mazda through the front window of MAZDA USA Headquarters....

^ This. Doesn't matter where the car is built, ask yourself this: Where do the profits go?? Get your facts straight.

This isn't a remark on quality or anything........but you probably could have.

I would never and have never bought a foreign made car ,but I wouldn't say they are the only ones to pull this crap. I had a chevy truck many years ago that had a 305 in it. It spun a bearing with about 1000miles left on the warranty and GM would not cover it because I had changed the oil myself. So from now on I get the dealership (no matter what brand) that I bought it from to service it until it's out of warranty. That way they can't use that BS to get out of fixing it should something happen. This didn't cause me to stop buying chevy's because really it was my fault for not reading the fine print. I now make sure I do what I need to,to maintain the warranty.

Edit: Saying the Camaro is an import is about the biggest bs I've every heard. You guys that said that need to pick an argument worth discussing.
