I say give it the L76/L99, would make a great base V8 IMHO

I also say keep the DIV6 with the hybrid setup ... but don't call it a hybrid

and what Cmicasa said

I disagree. Car heads know what you're talking about. But car heads are the very tiny minority. I think most people have no idea at all what an LS series engine is, and the average joe absolutely does not equate Chevy V8s with good gas mileage. I have a feeling you only discuss cars with car people. I was amazed when I used to be a claims adjuster at how many people knew jack-squat about their broken car.

I'm not saying that they know anything about the fuel consumtion of the hemi either, but Chrysler did a good job with their ad campaign.

No, i don't associate with mostly car guys, though i like to. When i mention Chevy V8 to people around here, good power and good economy is what comes to mind for them. I mean seriously, 22 mpg out of a new Crew Cab Silverado 5.3?? Where is the comparable gas guzzling Tundra? No better then 17. (CDN Mpg)

Update...

Cadillac XTS has been green-lighted for production. Production model will look extremely similar to the concept. The concept's interior will make it to production virtually as-is.

I'm thinking 3.0L Twin Turbo and no V8 option since...

1: We know GM is working on a twin turbo V6.

2: GM has already done the fwd V8 thing and abandoned it.

.....I'm not saying they couldn't put a gen V in here. But to do so would make the 3.0L TT V6 a bit redundant, and a gen V powered full size Caddy seems unlikely at any rate since GM wont even grace us with a LS series V8 in any existing Caddy outside of the CTS-V, supposedly because of refinement reasons.

Right. And the Twin-Turbocharged 3.0L is already very likely to go into the XTS.

Any word on whats expected out of that engine? I would peg it for anywhere between 325 to potentially 390, with ~350 being most likely.
