I don't believe having dye in your oil is a good thing. I'll stick with Amsoil.

It's a big enough deal to be considered a mod to some people.

Amsoil does meet the requirements and actually surpases them.

Recommended Fluids, Lubricants, and Parts
Recommended Fluids and Lubricants
Usage Fluid/Lubricant
Engine Oil (V6 Engine)
Engine oil which meets GM Standard GM6094M and displays the
American Petroleum Institute Certified for Gasoline Engines starburst
symbol. To determine the proper viscosity for the vehicle’s engine, see
Engine Oil on page 9-10.
Engine Oil (V8 Engines)
The engine requires a special engine oil meeting GM Standard GM4718M.
Oils meeting this standard can be identified with the American Petroleum
Institute (API) Certified for Gasoline Engines starburst symbol. However,
not all synthetic API oils with the starburst symbol will meet this GM
standard. Look for and use only an oil that meets GM Standard GM4718M.
For the proper viscosity, see Engine Oil on page 9-10.

Engine Coolant 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use only DEX-COOL®
Coolant. See Engine Coolant on page 9-19.

For those with a car still under warranty........I have seen warranty claims rejected (not by GM) for use of non-approved oils, it does happen and yes, if they think you are using something you shouldn't, they can and potentially will check.

You seem to know about Amsoil so I have a question. I'm looking to upgrade my trans fluid. The Amsoil site suggests torque-drive ATF but can I upgrade to the syncromesh 5W-30 with out a problem? Would the fluid be too thick? It's a TR-6060 trans.

Not relative to RP, but interesting. I've seen some internal reports that are verrrry interesting.

You can only purchase Amsoil through a dealer of it. I am a dealer and I can help you out if you would like to order some. Yes they have differential fluid. Their fluids will not void a warranty as long as you are using the fluid that meets the GM standard. GM's standards for their oils can be found in your owners manual section 10-7 and 10-8. Here is a link to Amsoils product application lookup for a 2010 SS. http://www.amsoil.com/mygarage/vehic...ROLET+CAMARO+X
All of their products will have a link to give you more information about it and what world wide specs it meets. Here is a link to my website http://www.lubedealer.com/simplysynthetics

Their first recommendation is the torque-drive and that is what I plan on putting in mine. I have the 6 speed as well. There has been some discussion on here about some people using the thicker ATF and the TR6060 does not like it very well especially in a cold environment or while the car is still cold. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60584The synchromesh does not meet the gm specs to be used in that transmission. Your manual has the specs in it, it is a GM 88861800. If I can help you any further let me know, and also the Amsoil customer service line is great for answering questions about technical issues. It is not a 800 number but they are great for questions on products [Technical Services Phone: (715) 399-TECH (8324)] My website is in my sig.
