Like anything else, some people love it ,and think it's the best thing since sliced bread. Others believe it's only a marketing ploy.

In my opinion, it is a good oil, but also a marketing thing too. If I recall correctly, I saw a list of GM approved oil one time recently and RP as well as Amzoil was not on the list. Now, I'm not saying GM will void your warrenty for using RP or Amzoil, just food for thought. I'm sticking with Mobil1.

I've had no problem using Mobil1 or Royal Purple on my other cars... but a RP rep told me there is "less detergent" in RP...

Not quite. Most stuff is good enough, but premium synthetics are better.

Let me start by saying I am using RP. However RP does not meet all the standards set by GM. It is low in sulpher which could damage the Cat Converter should oil get into the combustion chamber. well if you get oil in there you have more problems than the Cats. Way less detergent than Mobil 1 and IMO a better overall product. I also use it in the Diff along with the GM additive.
