I swear you mustang guys must be...

If anyone even thinks something inaccurate about the blessed mustang you guys are just all over it...

Here's a conspiracy theory for everyone to chew on....

You guys are operatives from Ford trying to destabilize Camaro5 aren't you.....

Mustangs are cheap and you can buy a used one even cheaper and then build your own track car buying parts direct from Ford motor sports. So you can build a Mustang that will blow the doors off even a Vette (not a Z1 but a Vette in the same $60,000 price range) but at what cost? and only in the 1/4 mile in corners to get a ford that competes with the best Vette then you need a GT40
So price per performance Chevy wins no matter how much you want to spend. Sure thanks to Shelby you can get a ford that started out as a Mustang that goes as fast as a SS Camaro but is it still a Mustang or a Shelby? No mustang badges on it?
You can of course buy a Ford motor sports FR500C or FR500GT4 but these are not street cars they are factory built race cars. But once you get the car home and before you run up against one on the street you have no idea what they have done to it.
So you may pull up to what looks like a MustangGT with your new SS and get smoked light to light but like I said may no longer be a Stock GT many even get modified at the dealer with Ford motor sports parts. and although they started out as a GT they are really more like a Shelby500GT with a supercharger. The Ford dealer near me has one they modified at the dealer looks like a 2009 GT on the outside yet it has 550hp.
Cost of the super charger update $7029.00 plus $3000 dealer install fee. They also updated the wheels tires, brakes ect. Total cost for a 2009 GT mustang after dealer mods $64,000 But for the diehard Ford Fan that hates getting beat by Vettes and Camaros I suppose they will pay it. It has been in their showroom for almost 2 years now. So maybe not?
That depends on what type of supercharger you buy. Roushcharger kits typically sell for 5K and under. Probably has a great deal to do with which dealer you choose to go to and how big your town is. There are other routes that one can take to ensure that their Mustang GT out runs 5th Gen Camaro SS's, without adding forced induction. Not so sure about Vettes, probably need a power adder for that.

No thanks. I've been enjoying this site for a lot longer than you have, so I think I'll just stick around.

Amen, brother.

Don't think so. I just started posting awhile back. But have been viewing it for a long time now. If you Ford Boys don't like what you see or hear than don't complain.

Moderator- PLEASE put the Mustangs back out to pasture!

Not long enough to know how to use the quote function correctly, it seems. Like you, I was lurking on the board from pretty much since its inception in 2006. I'm pretty sure I was driving a 2006 GTO at the time.

Guess what, if I see or hear something I don't like or information that is posted that is incorrect, regardles of the topic, I'm going to say something. If you don't like it, that's your problem, not mine.

I'm still wondering why you have any issue with people discussing Mustangs in a thread that specifically pits a Mustang variant against a Camaro variant though.

hey boys and girls, when are you guys going to get off this merry-go-round you call a debate and move on? you are just rehashing the same old stats and figures (and misfigures) over and over and it does not mean anything until you go head to head, title to title, ON THE TRACK....Until you are ready to do that then I say shut these dang VS threads down, they are only fodder for arguments and hard feelings...And in the end nobody wins...

P.S. this is for ALL VS threads Not just Mustang VS Camaro...And also for both sides to each argument..

The Camaro is and the Mustang will be an amazing car. Mustang seems like it will be a little better handling and a better interior. The Camaro is a better looking car. Either way, you'd have a great car!

its gaining about 75 hp while staying at the same weight or losing weight. there is nothing negative about that.

Oh I know, I didn't expect it to drop a bunch of weight. But thats the only way some people will take the challenger seriously. They try to say that it can't compete because it weighs a "little" more than the camaro and mustang but they wont find out till they race em.

well from what I've heard, people have said the Challenger has a much heavier 'feel' to it while driving as well. I think this has a lot to do with that perception.

I rode in a guy's RT Classic a few weeks ago. It did feel heavier than my car. It was very roomy though, and had a softer ride than my car. But mine was faster.
