hahah no that guy is a duche who feeds off his parents and brags about it. he has been banned off 3 forums already.

the 6.4 has no concrete numbers...the hope is that they will get it to 500...but rumor has it because of EPA requirements they are trying to get the MDS to work with that engine so the suppose finall numbers would be around 480-485. but im guessing the manual version with no MDS should reach 500. and of course the aftermarket will help but we all here are talking stock vs stock. that is why im glad that dodge created a mean looking muscle car. because it usually is alot easier to fix a performance aspect of a car than it is to fix a design aspect.

Yep, waiting to see the #'s of the 6.4. The Challenger is already one smooth ride, taking it to 500HP would be the icing on the cake.

With the Camaro SS out, Mustang countered with the 5.0. So I think the Camaro has the upper hand, by being able to counter the 5.0 with the upcoming Camaro model. We have to remember that the Camaro just starting coming back into production again.

Yeah I got you. Hopefully 500HP. Well enjoy whatever you get.

Hey wait. Are you saying the Mustang design is ugly in hat last comment? LOL

nope just saying at least they hit one part out of the ballpark...now they need to do it with the other part.

i love all 3 modern muscle cars....challenger is just my preference. if the gt500 came with an auto option i would be all over it. i think it looks better than the gt design.

Aftermarket will take time to develop parts. Cam upgrade will be major $$$. I see the 3v 4.6 > 5.0 with mods for at least 12-18 months.
not boost friendly? not even out yet and there u go lol. read the 5.0 article, it goes way in depth. it wont hold up to 10psi, but at 4-8psi it will probably make great power

this is 550hp i believe

The 5.0 was designed to handle boost according to the article... Read it.

The LS3 wasn't designed to handle boost either, but it seems to be holding up pretty well given all the supercharged Gen5 Camaro's running around out there. If I'm not mistaken, they use a powder forged rod, as well.

For the record, the rods in the GT500 are of the same powder forged type that are in the new 5.0L. They seem to hold up just fine under boost.

I expect when the new "Stang is out, it'll SLIGHTLY out handle, out accelerate and out pace Camaro on a road course. The question is, what will Chevy do to counter that one-up move by Ford?

More power will help, but they need to lose weight and/or improve handling as well.

im not a fan of heavy cars but it can be made to handle good..
the car definately needs a stiffer suspension and sway bars by far..
then change tires to 275 front and 295 rear..
and bump power up some.. rework heads and cams and tune get it up to 500HP.. it would still be under the Z06 plus Z06 is way lighter..

Fair enough.

I kinda tuned it out after the initial info release late last year. I glanced at the GT350 but was thinking they replaced the rods and pistons with the addition of the blower.

The GT500 has reasonable compression for boost at 8.4. Bit different than 11:1.

The 3 muscle cars out need to lose weight. All of them the Chally obviously the most. Than the Camaro, but trust me the Stang is no light weight either!

I got you man. You could learn to drive stick though? The chicks dig it! LOL I remeber when I first dated my wife she had no idea what a manual trans was, and me being in the transmission business had to teach her. she would ask what are you doing with both feet? Oh my god why do you have three pedals? THis is how I felt growing up in my type of biz when she said this
