No it's the gloss they put over the hood's engine cover so that is can be exposed to the UV light from the sun.

Holy Shit, I get 15-16 mpg, city or highway. But I like this Trailblazer, it does everthing I need it to, and is hard to beat at a light (being awd and automatic), just mash the gas pedal and it goes. I've beaten quite few mid 12 sec vehicles (alot of mustangs, he he, but also a rear drive TBSS) on the street that need drag radials and a smokey burn out to get those mid 12's. Don't get me wrong, the 05 and up Mustangs are good looking cars, esp the GT 500. In fact, if I was a rich Ford guy, I'd have a Eco powered Flex for the wife and kids, a Raptor truck for me and a GT 500 for a race car. But I'm poor so I have this old Trailblazer and the wife has a new Minivan.

A good freind of mine had an '03 Termy that ran 11.1's, just bolt ons and a ported intake. He ended up selling it and the solid axle he had ready to put in. The IRS's can be made to work though, there is another Termy around here running 10.4's and loves his irs, the way he has it adjusted. Yes I have freinds that drive Fords...

The Supersnake is a modified GT500 from Shelby. Basically you order a GT500 and send it to Shelby and they'll modify it into the Supersnake, so no it is not a factory option.

The Terminator IRS was designed to fit the mounting holes of a straight axle on a platfrom engineered for a SRA with the underpinnings dating back to the late 70's. I agree the Camaro will have an aftermarket SRA kit for hardcore drag racers. But the IRS is much better than the old mustang IRS and should be more than adequate for most weekend drag racers. |

The compression is too high and the rods are close to max durability with stock HP. Aftermarket will take time to develop parts. Cam upgrade will be major $$$. I see the 3v 4.6 > 5.0 with mods for at least 12-18 months. |

Geeze don't be so hard on yourself. Yeah the Flex is nice so is the Raptor. And dare I say Taurus? The truth is I have always loved the Taurus that transmission has kept bread and butter on my family's table for the last 20+ years! LOL

naw the challenger is behind but you guys make it seem like the challenger has 300 hp and does 0-60 in 10 seconds. the rt and srt8 are literally .1 seco nds behind and sometimes tied with the camaro in performance. now if you are talking about the v6 challenger then i agree it is lagging wayyyyyyyyyy behind. with the new 6.4 coming out it should get interesting. |
