Are there any actual servicemen here? In the real world, you can sort of tell some people are probably gay without their telling you. At my job, there are people are not necessarily "out" but other people basically know they're gay. My question is whether it's the same situation in the military right now under DADT.

well, I'm not active still, but to answer your question: yeah, same thing pretty much. But as long as they don't bug me I really don't care. The second they start letting me know their 'preferences' i take issue with it.

I was going to post a reply, but topics like this just bring out the haters on both sides.
Not that it matters much..But I happen to agree with what he said.

I don't consider it a military only issue, when it will be US tax payers picking up the tab for it.

And then you know what happen there, will effect us.

Say they all get new restrooms for each of the 4 sexes, you know that will spread to private life.

Anyone with a small buiness has to build 2 new bathrooms, schools, gov building, hospitial...............

Its gonna cost us billions in the end if the rules don't stand as is.

The only way out would be to uni sex everything.

Which might not be so bad, that would mean well enclosed private stalls for everything you need to do, cause I don't want to sit next to a guy in the open takin his morning dump either

Yea I know some military higher ups think that good training for biological warfare but there has to be some health concerns breathing germs so fresh from the tap

If they wear facemask to stop the spread of swine flu, rectal air can't be much better.

That's why you get the infamous 'peanut butter' shot in boot. Penicillin (unless ur allergic to it obviously). All different germs from all over the nation combine into one POWERFUL super germ. And even with those penicillin shots, everyone still gets sick sooner or later. But you know the saying, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger

in the service and out in the civilian world, you can sometimes tell, but honestly, I've known over 50 people IN the military that you would never in a million years believe swung the door both ways.

I still dont get sick anymore. I might get a head cold once in a blue moon, or a runny nose, but I've yet to be so sick that I couldnt report for duty.

The United States has been in a two front war for the better part of ten years and we're still debating this?
