So was I the only one waiting for one of them to drop the trophy, since they were fighting over it like little kids over a popsicle?

You can keep Saban ( Not saying he isnt a Good coach ) College and Pro's are a different Breed. He Showed us just a few years ago with Miami that The NFL stands for NFL meaning you wont be around long if you don't raise your coaching skills from college to pro's. Plus these guys are getting paid in the NFL college kids listen grown men laugh and go on.

As for Carroll I dunno he tried this once as in the "NFL" and had no luck with Seattle wanting him " so the rumor is " If he gets say over his team with the choices of his own coaches and Etc maybe it will work for him.
Carroll probably needs out of USC to much is coming to the table from bush/mcknight.

All I got to say is with all that happened in that game, Texas had the ball with less than 3 minutes to go down only three with a chance to possibly win that game. I'm just saying.
NO, I am not a Texas fan.

Wow..... I just got tipped off from an EXTREMELY reliable source (who works within the UF Athletic Department) that Urban coming back was a lot more than just having a change of heart...

Ok lets take a look at what went down. Urban Meyer mysteriously resigns before the bowl game, before we locked in our recruiting class, and leaves the program shaken. He never really talked about WHY he resigned so suddenly.

Urban, his wife, and the school administration know there is 0% chance of him changing his mind....

Then he comes back the next day... Why?

Well here is what happened behind the scenes.

1. The reason he resigned so suddenly is because Urban never really wanted to leave the program, He resigned immediately so that Charlie Strong would have a chance to serve as HC, as he had not signed the contract with Louisville. Once Charlie Strong took over as HC, Urban would take his leave of absence... and then once he was ready, he would come back and coach the program again. At that point, Charlie Strong would step down and he would find a HC job somewhere else.

2. Urban did step down, and Jeremy Foley (Athletic Director) began talks with Charlie Strong.... however in the middle of the talks they got a call from a big time HC who wanted the position immediately. This complicated things for Jeremy Foley, he couldn't hire Charlie Strong hoping that Urban Meyer would eventually come back and miss out on this big name coach who could step in right away and have success.

3. So the idea of bringing back Charlie Strong was dismissed. This complicated things for Urban Meyer.... see he never wanted to quit, just take time off. The plan was for him to take time off while Strong kept the program warm, and when Urban was ready he would come back. If Jeremy Foley brought in a big name coach, it would no longer be Urban's team and he would no longer have a chance to regain control of the program like he intended. Once this new big name coach came in, it officially would end any hope that Urban had to come back.

4. SO Urban changed his resignation to a leave of absence to protect the program. Steve Addazio would be promoted to interim head coach, and he would essentially be doing the same thing that Charlie Strong would have done....

That big name coach was Bob Stoops.

I cannot believe he would give the USC job up. UNLESS, some NCAA sanctions are about ready to hit. What do you guys think?

Dude. I am a realist. It didn't look good for UT after McCoy went down. I was the only one who stuck around and defended the Big 12 lastnight.

I think with the OU fans it is that family inbreeding thing and also when over half your teams roster is from the state of Texas dose not help (University of Texas @ Norman, as we like to call it). If Tech fans ever managed get into the end zone, they would still "Trailer Park" it up!
Ok, right. UT has NO obnoxious fans.

And I wouldn't feel too good about Meyer right now if I were a Gator fan.
