Listen, I did verizon... Tmobile... Sprint... you name it.

Now I've got an iphone w/ AT&T. As far as dropped calls go, I can count them on one hand. Which is actualy more than I could say for a couple of the forementioned providers.

Not only that, but after being an iphone user... I can't even imagine owning a different phone. Everything else seems so archaic.

AT&T has great service, where they have service. If you're not smack dab in the center of a coverage area, or travelling throughout the state, you'll be dropping a lot more calls than staying around your hometown. AT&T in the suburbs of SF is TERRIBLE!

Same thing here... almost no real coverage anywhere in Oklahoma...

Can anyone really blame AT&T

"AT&T executive Ralph de la Vega at the UBS conference in New York. He complained that 3 percent of the iPhone users are using 40 percent of the bandwidth."

When 3% of your customers are screwing it up for the rest, id put some new rules into play too.

All that stuff is funny as all TV is broadcasted by Satellite.
The cable or other companies just have much larger dishes like back in the day so they can claim to broadcast better service then some can pick up on their tiny roof mount dish.

My only problem with AT&T which I also have with the local Cable company, neither has yet to update the wires in my area to provide hi speed internet.
Its dialup or nothing.

Far as cell's go I have no use for all that fancy stuff ok well maybe I do but I don't need the bill.

I stick with my pre-pay Virgin phone as it cost a bar min of only $20 every 90 days. And trust me I do all I can to make sure that $20 last the full 90 days.

I live in Dallas Fort worth and I dont have any problems with my AT&T Iphone. I can count on one hand as well on how many dropped calls I have had.

3% are using 40%.... hmm.....

would that be from people who download 10,000 apps onto their iPhone and the just let them run....? constantly sucking up network usage....

Sprint and Verizon operate on the same technological standard (CDMA2000), and most say that Sprint's implementation of it delivers higher voice quality, so you may not want to jump ship to Verizon.

And, people should keep in mind that the network performance problems AT&T is having are fairly limited and blown out of proportion. Of course there are areas where Verizon has better coverage than AT&T, and vice versa.

People seem to love getting into pissing contests over providers: use whatever works best where you live, work and play.

My biggest issue with the iPhone isn't ATT, its Apple and them being APP/Customization Nazis ... I won't leave because of ATT, but I will because of Apple.

that's a stupid argument. if your network can't handle the workload then don't offer a phone like the iphone that is as good as it is BECAUSE it requires a good data network.

Agreed. It seems to me like AT&T is trying to renege on all of the promises they made with their iPhone service. From the standpoint of my work field (data center operations), if 3% of your customers are using 40% of your bandwidth, it means you have far too little bandwidth. Those 3% should be using 3% of your bandwidth - if the other 97% aren't using the full other 97%, its there if they need to.

I could care less about AT&T. I'm not switching from my iphone... unless that is to a newer model. But...... if apple wants to team up with Verizon, i'd be cool with that.
