I think he will, hes a great coordinator and that HC job has been long overdue. If Urban had left for ND we would have just promoted Strong.

There are two reason's he might not coach the bowl.

1. He is too involved with recruiting for the Cards, and setting up their program to devote the proper amount of time/effort towards scheming out D for Cincy.

2. We have a younger guy who has been part of Strong's team since we got him from South Carolina in 2003. I forget his name, but he's an assistant that stands a great chance of being upgraded to Defensive Coordinator. Think Muschamp or w/e his name is from Texas. That would be a huge test for him, and very hands on job application.

Here is a knife for Jekyll... apparently our Athletic Director has talked to Muschamp (Texas's DC) about the DC job. He hasn't been offered the position, but he has been one of the candidates who showed interest.

We want Kirby Smart from Alabama. for UGA DC position.. He is a a UGA Grad and player...and bama is only paying him 400k a year, one of the lowest salaries for a DC. We have the dough we need to spend it

Yea I heard about that, he came out and said he is staying put though so idk how that will end up.

There has basically been a fire sale on all the coaches at Tenn. seeing as they are paying them close to minimum wage. They've lost like 2-3 guys ALREADY....

lol...I would say I am staying too if my team was playing for a NC...but all bets are off after the NC game is played

No chance. Our Athletic Director wouldn't have been cool with Strong leaving if Meyer was still thinking about it. Strong was the next in line for the throne.

And on the flip side Strong wouldn't have wanted to leave if Meyer was thinking about it.... Why go to Louisville if you could take over a program like UF?

And on top of that.... I hope he doesn't go. I'd have to root for him and i hate the Irish.

I've heard rumors that we had more than a passing interest in Strong before we hired Mullen last year. Supposedly the only thing that kept it from going forward is we wanted a coach who came from a more offense oriented background....
