Yeah, I know that. I was talking about the car in the video. I don't think GM would waste money and risk all that technology by putting actual batteries in the car.

Don't get all offended dude. You can't expect people to know exactly what you mean on the internet.

Oh no no, I'm not offended in the least bit. Sorry if I came across that way.

actually the engine recharges the battery, and you can plug it in

Do you think it sounds better if you say "All-electric drive"? I never took to the whole "extended-range"...I dunno...random thought

Oh, and I think the battery range is 46-47 miles, now. They've managed to extend the range beyond what they wanted, originally.

And it works too. Twice now I've mentioned to friends that I want to get a new Camaro. They'll be puzzled and say they didn't know a new Camaro was coming out. When I or someone else mentions Bumblebee on Transformers was the new Camaro, they get really excited and say that it is a really cool car. So money well spent for GM I say.

I think it looks good so far. I like the color too.

Most of us may never own a Volt, and it won't make GM much money, but it will pay big dividends to all GM products in lessons learned on weight reduction, aerodynamics, etc.
I wouldn't go that far. It outclasses the Prius, and that has sold over one million vehicles worldwide.

Yes, that's true. But in order to price the Volt "appropriately" (30k - 40k), they will actually LOSE money per vehicle for a while. I think this was even the case for the Pious...I mean Prius . In order to reach the "greater good" (future profitability of the car), GM will take an initial hit on these cars.

The VOLT will eventually pay for itself, as the Prius did.
