So, what type of fuel economy are you seeing?
Think of it this way it weighs too much for you now, imagine if they had to add more space and a bigger back seat. Which would also change the look of the car. I will always be in the drivers seat so if more than on person wants a ride they will have to be uncomfortable.

When I say the rear seats were useless, I mean I was not able to get the rear facing infant car seats in place without moving the front seats forward to the point where my knees were hitting the dashboard.

The Camaro target market isn't the same as the G8 market. I need 4 doors and room in the back.

a12...I know, hence why I guess my lust for the Camaro will go unfullfilled.

They killed it in 2003, then in 2009 the rear seats are still useless so I guess I'm just not a target customer for GM with the Camaro. Wow...I'll have to go cry after I wright this....

I need at least useful rear seats, tight OK, but useful so I'd love a G8 but the auto keeps me away.

What about a G8 GXP? I am pretty sure it will be available with a manual tranny.

Fairly comfortable, a little cramped if you're back there for long. It's just a real PITA trying to crawl back there! Not to mention the long wait for the power seat to move forward enough from me to SQUEEZE my 5'8" 150 lbs frame through to get back there.

a12, I can't afford it and the fuel economy would be poor.

Dang GM forcing an auto!!! But, if the auto is faster and more fuel efficient then I understand.

BUT, does anyone know if this is the case????

I thought this was beaten dead already? AFM + manual don't mix? Not enough people would have bought a stick shift to justify it?........

still, Cubanaso; sometimes I wonder if you shouldn't build your own car...there just seems to be no pleasing you!

I'm still stunned with people thinking the Camaro is a family car. I just don't get it.

for those that have one or have driven one what was your impression?
Your GTO must be a stick.....
MY A4 and the G8 feel very similar in presentation.

IMHO, the G8 is THE best value on the market today (even with the slight price increase for 2009). You get so much car for so little price.

In fact, I saved so much money buying the G8 instead of a 5 series BMW that I now have enough money to buy the Camaro when it finally comes out (and I DO plan to have it in my garage next to my G8).

The backseats in the G8 are INSANELY huge. Good for getting laid when the ladies see you pull up with your G8 lol!

Of course, I suspect the ladies will go even more nuts when you pull up in your new Camaro. Not much longer now...

With the G8, I can get up to 32 MPH on the highway if I do everything right. That's like a freakin' Malibu. Active Fuel Management is incredible.

However, when I get off the freeway and start giving the G8 gas, I can see the needle go down before my eyes. The car gets thirsty really fast.
