This memo just went out to every automobile manufacturer in the world who sells cars in the United States.

Sean Duffy was just confirmed - he don’t waste no time!

Signed Secretarial Memo re Fixing the CAFE Program 2.pdf

Mark Reuss’ cell phone rings first thing Monday Morning:

“Hi Mark it’s Mary…… do we still have the tooling for the 3800?”

I went to the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas in January. Zeekr had probably the best automotive showing.

My guess is gm will come out saying they knew this would happen years ago and were all ready for it. Probably Winston Smith is at work again to make it look like this was always the situation.

"No, No, We were never all about an EV future....Internal Combustion has always been our future"...lol

Perhaps "gm" will be called "GM" again at some point...lol

Meanwhile, what GM ACTUALLY does is ramp up production of the Cadillac Optiq and begins production on the Cadillac Vistiq. They also announce that XT4, XT5, and XT6 will end production at the end of 2025. So...maybe not.

Be interesting to see what happens long term. You and I have very different opinions on this subject which is totally fine and healthy. I wish the current admin could do more than executive orders to scale the governments hand in this EV bs back permanently so the market can decide for its self. Long live ICE and V8 bad assery… for four more years anyway.

I don't know. Might not be as different as most probably think. I have four cars. My drive every day cars are EV. My performance cars are a V8 and a turbocharged manual. I've never been in favor of California's mandates or Canada's mandate and think that both of them are ill-advised and non-executable. My familiarity with those mandates, by the way, is why I am adamant that the federal government does not have a mandate. If you want to see how a mandate looks, look at California and Canada and you'll realize that nothing of the sort exists in the federal government.

I do spend a lot of time defending EVs because there are so many wrong assumptions and politically based outright lies that I feel compelled to try to feed as much accurate and documented information as possible. EVs are not for everybody. But for those that they work for, they can be awesome. Same thing can be said about performance cars. Shocker...I own two of each.

Fear not! This is just the beginning of "four years" which will end the future possibility of the return of bureaucratic nonsense that has been foisted on the US population and auto manufacturers. Legislation can ensure the horrible regulatory nightmare of the previous "four years" (and more) cannot be replicated.

Stay tuned. (No pun intended)...lol

I look forward to a future of automotive choice, affordability and freedom, well beyond the next "four years".
