I wasn't a fan of the 370Z either. Never did like the motor. It was rough in the higher rpm range and didn't sound near as good as the 350Z. I can't wait to see the NISMO Z either. Nissan has suggested that it is coming. My guess is that it will be at least 450 hp.

When you guys say that stock for stock the SS barely takes it do y’all mean from a dig? Cause I feel like from a roll the SS should more than take it unless the Z is underrated or it makes way more power up top than us. I don’t feel like watching the whole video but did he give a quarter mile time WITH the trap speed?

I had a 1971 240Z, LOVED that car! Had it for years, unfortunately, the rot monster eventually ate the entire unibody front sub frame. This would have been around 1980 I think? Way too involved and expensive to repair, sad.....
As for the new Z, I kind of like it. The hints to the generations of Z are nice, but somehow, the entire package just seems slightly off. I am mixed. Wait until I see one in the wild and maybe a chance to drive one, then I can make up my mind! |

Thanks. I agree 4.3-4.5 is probably where it will be. I would bet it would do about a 12.6-12.8 and trap @ 110ish for the manual. I don’t think these cars stock for stock will be much of a challenge/have the same IN GEAR acceleration. Of course I think this is a better car for modding though.

That's correct. Nissan hasn't allowed anyone to test the car yet or even drive it for that matter. It will be interesting to see what the real world numbers are. See my ride along video on the prior page for what the car is like on the road.

I like it better than the fugly new Supra. Looks like the muscle cars of the future are shifting to the twin turbo 6, as seen with the new Dodges, Fords, etc. Hopefully GM will get on board.

I love the old Zs (spent a lot of time with an old 280) and think they crushed this redesign. Would never take one over the Camaro, because there's a magic with a V8 that you can't match with a 6. But I'm really happy with what they did with this new one.

He for sure needs to take a better look at the Camaros trunk. After all we had to sacrifice a spare tire to get that trunk .

I like the new Z and am glad Nissan is making it. I wouldn't take it over a new Camaro though.
