You don't need insurance. Where I live they set up times at the mall, the local grocery store, walmart.

Heh. Not where I live. I mean, they set them up, but you still have to either A) have insurance or B) pay.

They are not free at these retail locations without some form of insurance.

I paid 25 bucks for my seasonal flu shot down at the local grocery store.

I have GREAT insurance, but it didn't cover the flu shot.

Work offers free flu shots. Co-worker got the flu shot last week, I didn't. Over the weekend, he started feeling sick. Called in sick on Monday, went to see his Dr., Dr. confirmed he has the flu! He is still out sick! I am picking up the slack...makes me wanna go get the flu shot this week so I can return the favor next week.

Makes you wonder what they are really injecting into you.

FYI - It takes about 2 weeks to get immunity after receiving the flu shot.
You can easily get the flu in that 2 week period.

Do you know if the chances of this happening is greater if you get the shot every year? The video didn't say if this was the first time she got it.

I've had a flu shot every year for the last 10 years and haven't had the flu (could be coincidence). When my dad owned the family business he offered free flu shots to our employees and their families and the wife and I continue offering them to this day with with roughly 35-40 people getting them every year. No one has ever gotten sick from the shots and there has been very little sick leave attributed to the flu at our small business.

The flu shot itself will NOT make you sick. You're being injected with a non-active, dead version. It does take a couple of weeks to be effective. If you do get sick around the time of the shot, you were going to get sick anyway you just probably haven't had the symptoms yet. It takes a few days of it being in your system for symptoms to show. However, the nasal mist IS active and you can infect others...which makes me scratch my head as to why it's even available in that form to begin with? shrugs...

The H1N1 hype is rediculous to me. The regular flu kills over 30,000 a year. The flu sucks in any shape or form. And if your immune system is compromised you're more at risk of developing complications period. Get the shot, don't get it. No one is forcing you.

Complications can arise from anything, anytime. An example being Influenza A causing brain swelling that caused dilirium.

Now everyone go live in a bubble. Nurses orders

I rarely take anything......even aspirin. I can tell you I recover pretty fast as my body is used to fighting off things on it's own. I would not turn down a small pox vaccine, but for the flu, NOT WORTH IT to me. Most people that die from the flu have weak immune systems. Sad to see that video. Neurological problems are terrible, and very hard to live with.
