flu shots, wtf?

"one in a million accident", i'll continue to take my chances of getting the flu and not get a flu shot.
i've never trusted doctors and never will.

Son of b#%$@, what the f@%^, I will never get a flue shot. At least the flue will out right kill me or I'll just be sick for a little while.

My friend here was hanging out with a friend of her's over the weekend who just called her to tell her that she has swine flu.

This should be interesting.

Thanks to vaccines you've lived long enough to post here today.

The benefits FAR exceed the risk. You run a ~5% chance of getting the flu each year vs 1:1,000,000 chance of having a severe adverse event from the vaccine. Of those 5% that get the seasonal flu, ~ 36,000 of them die each year. Keep it in perspective, the more people that get vaccinated, the less chance of perpetuating the disease (ala heard immunity). Many times you can get the vaccine for free, takes two minutes and you're on your way.
