No it isn't, you just have to have the right license. I have a friend who had a level 3 FFL and he had suppressors on most of his weapons. We shot his suppressed MP5 at the range all the time.

It is arguable that our right to carry guns does make us a safer country. However it doesn't make us completely safe.

Never underestimate a humans intent on an unjust cause

Actually I know a guy who had one on his AR-15 civilian version of the M4. The only catch is you can't legally shoot a gernade out of it only flares but it's the exact same thing as the M203 gernade launcher.

You Do Know That Happened Almost A year ago Right..And I Believe All the Court Cases From This Event have Been Dissmissed..
THE CASTLE DOCTRINE .. Look into it ppl. The law was passed Just Shortly BEFORE this happened..I Know he was cleared of any wrong doing in one case. But even With Double Joepardy, Just Word the charges differently and have another go.

Why Is This JUST NOW Making National Headlines??

Guns aren't the problem. People who legally possess firearms use them as intended. It's the idiots who get their guns illegally that are the problem.

I don't want to sound like a member of the NRA, because I'm not, but a gun has never killed or injured someone without human intervention. I know this oversimplifies a complex issue, but nonetheless it is true.

If someone were to break into my house, I would rather they end up dead than have the chance to harm my family.

Yep, that's pretty old, but a VERY good example of the Castle Doctrine. It was a pretty good case in that it extends the right to protect your neighbors property as well (if your neighbor wants you to do so).

The grand jury no-billed the guy and the case is OVER. The shooter goes free and two more criminals are no more. Protesters came out to try and say what happened was wrong and they were met by a bunch of motorcycle "club" members who (from what I understand) prevented the protest...or something like that.

Our city DA was on tv a couple weeks ago talking about this. She appeared VERY happy of the court case outcome and basically told all BURGLARS (people that break into homes and cars to steal are called burglars.....not ROBBERS.......................) that a drawback of their job is the possibility of death....and to watch out because if you break into someones house, you may find yourself DOA. It was a great article and I sure hope it curbs some burglaries. I know d@mn well that if someone broke into my house right now....oooooh. I've got to protect my family...first and foremost....and I'll do anything to make sure they are safe.

I think this is a sign. My friend called me up and wants to take me shooting at the range sometime soon. Then I get on the forums and read this...

Anyways, I agree with the guy, if you care about your neighbors and you've been calm and patient, waiting for the police to arrive, I don't see anything wrong with going out and shooting at them. I myself wouldn't shoot to kill, I'd rather blow their knee out and let the cops take care of it.

I will admit, I laughed pretty hard at the "Boom, your dead...." comment.

I would have fallen out of my chair if he said, "Boom! how about a magic trick?"

first i see everybody's point of view. second i'm a gun owner and a ccw holder, but i still think the guy was wrong to go out of his house. he was in no danger untill he left his house, then he left and put himself in danger.

but on the other hand i'm glad he got off too. hopefully that ruling will set a precedent for the country and not just texas.
