The problem with Saturn was that they sloted between Chevy and Buick, along with Pontiac. Essentially, they branded it as a replacement for Oldsmobile, which was killed because there was no longer a market for it
![]() They were good cars but nothing was really unique. Nothing set an Aura apart from a Malibu, so whats the point in keeping both?

It had to be done. Fanbois aside. Even if Penske did something with it overall in North America Saturn and performance arent really gonna fly. Same reason the Fiat Chrysler thing. Who the hell in N.A. is gonna buy a Fix It Again Tony? Just a bad idea and this is just another step GM has to make to change things, change isnt easy. The Sky is and the Astra Hatch is the only real loss here. And because of the roadster hole you can guarantee that GM will rework Roadster thing down the road.

Astra was a terrible car. Powertrain was lacking, interior was spartan, controls were foreign...

I never cared much for Saturn but the Sky was awesome. Every time I see one I admire its futuristic design. Stuff an LS motor in one of those and what a fun ride you'd have.

As much as I like the Sky, I was glad to see GM spinning Saturn off. They need to concentrate of their core brands. Now, that the deal is dead, I won't miss Saturn. I just hope GM doesn't give up on the idea of a small roadster like the Sky and Solstice.
