solstice was a piece of crap. i had one. it was horrible.

and the G8 is barely worth anything in my opinion. way over-priced and ugly to boot

I agree it was a bit over priced but as far as look's they are subjective, and I garauntee I had more compliment's in my G8 then I will ever get in my Mustang at least until it get's the facelift. And dont get me started on how that 4 door Pontiac would run circle's around a stock Mustang.

Saturn, over the past 5 years, was given the best in vehicles, the best in sales experience, and even the best in marketing (remember "that's a Saturn?"). It was(is) a unique brand with a TON of potential. The trouble is, it has cost GM lots of money to keep it alive. It made them $0.00 and it wasn't for lack of trying on their part. I refer to it as the Saturn Phenomenon: People just don't buy them.

It's sad to hear this news. I loved the Sky, and the Vue -- and the Aura was a killer prelude to the Malibu. :( I had hoped Penske could do something different with the brand.

I think it's ulitmately better for GM in the short and long-term to discontinue it, though. Saves money, and allows a redirection of attention to the 4 core brands.

well sure it would run circles around a mustang. but its not a fair argument because the G8 is priced a lot more. priced too high..........but still more expensive than a mustang.

so with that logic.......you should get more performance for 38k rather than 30k

(And, technically...wouldn't this have been a Fiat decision?)

You must be thinking of the GXP because the GT is no 38k try more like 28k.

I have to agree. Setting aside emotions and looking at the situation objectively, there is just no justification for keeping a division which has burned through $18+ billion since inception and never turned a profit.

You get 361 HP for $30k and 415 HP for $38k. Plus BMW M5-like handling and drive characteristics.
