If you're truly located at the 'ring, how can you drive anything short of a Z (or an exotic)?

That's where we loose each other! Don't get me wrong my wife drives a 2017 Yukon Denali and we love it, but I don't leave my trucks stock for very long and GM not offering a straight axle and those square wheel wells limit what you can do as far as lift and wheels/tires. GM trucks look goofy lifted since the front track width is wider than the rear due to IFS and the wheel wells force you to run nothing more than maybe a -44 offset wheel which again makes them look goofy and top heavy. There was one at the shop a couple weeks ago that rolled over on an on ramp because you can't get the tires out there enough to keep them stable. ![]() ![]()

Some other high points for GM trucks: Engines that have power in the half ton series (No ecoBoost BS) Transmissions that are glass smooth and extremely well built (In half and HDs) (Ford to this day has a hard time building a good transmission, look at the Focus and even their HDs which pale compared to an Allison). Interiors that are nice looking, as well as being well built-enough. Lots of people are saying the new Ford Platinum interiors on the SD is better than High Country/Denali counterparts but after being in both, I definitely disagree. I find the Denali/High Country much nicer to look at, while the Ford looks bulbous, square and awkward (Just like they ALWAYS have). I haven't handled the Ford's switches and buttons so I can't speak to quality of the stuff... Edit: I could definitely add ride quality (Especially with the top level Denali which gets Magnetic Ride!). General road noise. Steering...I mean what else? I have always said, Ford started building truck amenities before they figured out how to actually build a truck...Meaning they start making things like "Auto park" "Auto trailer backup" "Steps on the tail gate with a railing" "Massaging seats" before they've figured out how to build an Engine, Transmission, Suspension System, Brakes, and Frame. GM has always won those sections regularly, though not always of course. Anyways, you should try a Duramax sometime. And in the meantime, go look at the countless HDs with 14 wides . (But btw, a 14 or even a 12 wide isn't needed for stability at any point lol it's just for looks and bragging rights while doing excessive damage to your paint, bearings, etc.)

#1 reason I would say no is that I'm not playing Ford dealer games - giving them a #$@% ton of money to buy a car they are in business to sell is ridiculous IMHO.
Second, what's the power plant going to be? Twin turbo or N/A 7.0L V8, or the flat-plane Voodoo? As an aside, I don't think a FP crank can take the mass of a 7.0L. Third, I don't like the body style, especially if it's just going to be a beefed up GT350. Ford needs to stop following the Celica blueprint and make something with edges. |

I agree with a lot of the comments,
Last summer I was looking for a new car, I was not sure what I wanted. I had a very bad experience with Chevy about 15 years ago. So I basically swore off owning a Chevy ever again. So I was all on for the GT350. I found a local dealer and they had a beautiful blue and white GT350. They started it up and is sounded awesome. I asked them for a test drive and they said no. I then asked them about the price and they said it was not negotiable. I was really bummed. They offered me a test drive drive in a GT and it was extremely underwhelming. After the test drive l figured since I was there I would take a look at the new Raptor. It was even worse; even though they had 4 of them on the lot they said their was a recall on them and they could not do test drives and they were not available to buy until the recall work was complete and just like the GT350 the price was not negotiable. I left the dealship absolutely dumbfounded, they were asking well over MSRP, I could not test drive them and they couldn’t sell me the Raptor. I was apprehensive about going to the Chevy dealership but there was one across the street. They had a 18 ZL1 and a SS 50th Anniversary with the Callaway package. I was able to test drive both and ending up getting a great deal on the Callaway fifty. The car has really change my mind on Chevy. I love they car and the dealer has been great to work with. So with all that said I would not entertain buying a GT500 if I cannot take it for a test drive and if the dealership is going to mark it up way over MSRP. |

My point with ADM, is the car is not worth the price period! Add 10 to 20k and a Z06 is way cheaper and will wipe its ass with a GT500. The GT500 is Fords ZL1 not a Z06 or a GT and needs to be priced accordingly. Again, my buddy let me hammer on his GT350 and it did 0 for me. I also drove a Raptor and laughed out loud at what a POS it was. Fords are like Hyundai’s and lipstick on a pig doesn’t make me want to have my way with it!!! LOL

This x1000. GMC/Chevy and then Dodge in a very very close second. Ford truck? Please. And the interiors...Anyone that prefers a Ford SD over GM has never actually been in one. Fords SD interior is barely on par with a Tundra.

Rumors are that it is the SC 5.2 predator motor. Doesn’t matter though. Price alone will kill any ROI on the ford side, assuming you’re thinking logically. Those that were offering six figures for the 350 must be after something “special”.
