FACT.

Exception being AUTOMATIC transmissions. GM has kept up-to-date in that specific area.

No one manufactures Manual transmissions in-house, any longer. But THAT wasn't "the topic of discussion", was it? It was AUTOMATICS, and specifically "FORD" Automatics.

Miss-informed OPINION has been FACTUALLY corrected, and the reasons why GM Automatics DON'T suffer from the SAME limitations as those "superior" outside sources was supplied.

FACT.

Is there any more HELLCAT discussion for this HELLCAT-specific thread?

My late-brother bought, brand new, a '69 Nova SS396-375 L78. Fond memories.

The latest edition of HEMMINGS Muscle Machines arrived in my mailbox yesterday. Z11, '64 Hemi, '63 Catalina Super Duty, and a '63 Ford Lightweight are featured. GREAT read!

Anyone else with a 700+-capable trans suffers the same fate...SIZE-PACKAGING.

You can build all manner of hp., but you can only USE 650 lb-ft. And TORQUE is what launches these cars. So with Torque Management ONLY fully functional on AWD and/or Dual Clutch/Automatic transmissions, there's a mechanical issue EVERYONE must address...including folks "dreaming" of 750+ hp Top Fool engines...

Time...and of course MONEY...IF EVER!

You'd do well to follow LD's posts. I'm sure he'd be unimpressed if you do. BUT you might actually learn some FACTUAL things.

You're right, and then the Ford fans showed up in their Stick-only now-usurped rattle traps, like vultures looking for road kill. Or trolls from under a bridge.

Classy guys, those Ford fans. Led by "the jagged one", who unconvincingly argues on a cloudless sunny day that it's in FACT "as black as night".

"REALLY?!"

BTW, and especially for Ford fans, I found this on FB.

1964 Comet A/FX, 427 HiRiser, slicks, drag race-only. 11.7s @ 124

And today we can buy cars capable of those times (or better) with a lengthy warranty!

The torque capabilities of the 8L90 appear to be even better than you thought Joe. Imagine a 738 lb-ft engine! L88

The gearbox is the same physical size as the existing six-speed automatic, but thanks to a lightweight aluminium and magnesium construction, its eight pounds lighter. Despite its light weight, the 8L90 can handle up to 738 lb.-ft. of torque.
