I think it's going to be an interesting battle at the track for sure!! The 2011 Mustang is rated at 412 hp, however one blog got a hold of one and put it on a dyno; they got 395 at the wheels! That's 20 more whp than mine put down stock! The Mustang is still lighter but not by a whole lot. I am a Camaro guy all the way, having owned 4 so far, my first car being a Camaro. However I can't knock on Ford and the good work they're doing with the Mustang. We all asked for GM to create a better Camaro, stronger, more powerful, more reliable, better handling, more amenities, etc. GM listened and did it. Now when the Mustang owners and fans did the same thing to Ford, they answered (they mainly wanted more power) with the new 5.0 engine. That engine is a seriously good design and should work very well for them. I can't wait to see it in other applications!

To be honest it's just another chapter in the Camaro vs. Mustang rivalry that has been goingon for decades. I welcome it with open arms and can't wait to see things get real interesting!

Considering that was about 10 years ago, I believe this test video would be much more relevant. This was a bone stock CS/GT Mustang with 17" drag radials. I saw the magazine yesterday at the store and they have a picture with it pulling the front left tire about 1.5" off the ground. Quite impressive.

I don't know how to imbed, so if someone else does that would be great.

Yeah, I don't feel it's really fair to call the Mustang a better buy when you have to pile on all kinds of additional cost to get it to compete. If you have $30k and no more to spend on a car, Camaro is going to be your best bang for buck. With standard equipment only, Camaro is a more complete package.

whats up mike ? yah i agree my first car was a camaro as well and ive owned 5 including this one I too am a chevy guy all the way and I am pretty impressed the power they are making out of the 5.0 but that also leads me to believe the mustang might not come too detuned as our camaros were big time detuned so we didnt come close to the corvette numbers because we all know that would kill the vettes sales if you could spend half the money and have a car that is making close to the same power either way F mustangs

And as far as I see it that would give the car a huge advantage If we were to take a camaro bone stock and run 373 gears on it im willing to bet we beat the mustang by quite a bit I WANT TO KNOW EVERYONES THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ON THE BATTLE ??:fighting0040:
I think by now you should know everyone's thoughts on this matter. Haven't you been on this forum for the last six months.

still a drivers race
though with equal drivers the mustang should be faster

this is awesome
it gives each manufacturer a reason to make their car better(other than dodge they should give up and just go for looks.....)

Only when driving through school zones. The only way a supercharged 5th gen isn't in the 11's is if the driver can't drive and guess what, if the same driver drove a Pro-stock 8second car the same bad driver would still ahve a hard time hitting 11's.
