Ok,.. I as thinking they were both drag radial.. sounds like ET Streets would be the way to go then as the ZL1 is not my DD so no issues with everyday drives, rain, etc.

I got mine from Discount Tire in Bowling Green, KY for about $200 each. I have heard of people finding them for as low as $120 each.

Any updates on performance since the weather has gotten warmer. I just ordered 305/35/20 (R) and 275/35/20 (F) backordered everywhere. Are you happy with the way the tires sit on the rim. Looks like no tire bulge. Pretty clean. Do you have more pics? Thanx |

I have gotten to put some more miles on mine and if I am on asphault and stab the throttle, I still get some wheel spin, but no where like the stock F1's. Normally if I try it again, the tires stick really good and I don't have any problems or issues. I have even taken them to the track once. Ran them at 21 lbs. and was having a hard time getting them to stick. I only made 3 passes, so I really can't say that I learned what type of burnout that they liked before they would stick. I was able to run a 11.4 @ 128. That was my personal best last year when I was running the Nitto NT05R drag radial, so doing that on a street tire isn't too bad. I know I could make some better passes if I had the time, but I have a good set of DR's, i'm not going to waste my street tires if I don't have to..lol

They fit and look great on the wheels. As for performance they are worthless in a straight line (just like the GY), but I didn't buy them for that. That's what the DR's are for. I've yet to push them to the max in cornering, but I have been pleasantly surprised how well they've held up so far. I'm pretty certain I can top my previous best g once I push it. Hope this helps. Here is a quick cell phone pic. |

Hey guys, brinigng this thread back to the surface. Just wondering why some people are going with 40 sideall tires for the front instead of 35? The stock tires have a 35 rating, just wondering why some people are going to 40...

Just preference. The height of the tire will be slightly lower with a 35 profile vs. a 40 so if someone wants a closer to stock height and they have gone to 275 then a 40 would be better, a 275/35 is going to be smaller than stock.

The 275/35 (27.6") profile is actually closer to the stock front height (27.9"). The 275/40 profile is 28.6" which is also taller than the stock rear height of 28.4". |

The stock front tires are 35 sidewall, so that's why I was wonder why some people are going to 40. I would assume leaving it at 35 to keep as cose to stock as possible.

I didn't check the math again sorry. I think I was thinking of people using the 315s in the rear, that would work well with the 40 in front. I would prefer more sidewall for Michigan roads. But I wouldn't do the 40 with 305 in the rear, even if it isn't a noticable difference it would feel wrong
I am looking at 19" - 305/35/19 rear and 275/40/19 front. But off topic... |
