Ford Focus RS gets 404HP by BBR

Brit tuner dials the Focus RS up through four different power upgrades

Brit tuner BBR has a set of conversion kits for the Ford Focus RS MK2 that can dial things up all the way to over 400 hp.

But BBR doesn't do it all at once. On offer are four power upgrades beginning with an ECU remap and a new silicone air induction hose that bumps things up to 342 bhp (255 kW) and 369 lb-ft of torque (500 Nm). Price for this Phase One tuning is £595 (€716).

Phase Two takes the groove a little higher - with a new intercooler, silicone air inlet hoses, and high-performance air filter. Together with a juicier ECU remap the conversion is good for 355 bhp (265 kW) and 378 lb-ft (512 Nm) of maximum torque. Price is £1440 (€1,732) including a fitting charge.

For the next stage, a new BBR 3" stainless steel exhaust system is added and larger fuel injectors plus ECU and air flow systems tuning. Power for Phase Three is dialed up to 382 bhp (285 kW) and 388 lb-ft (525 Nm). Cost is £2495 (€3,000) not including an installation charge of £345 (€415).

And finally, Phase Four brings all the aforementioned goodies BBR has to the table, with the addition of its own new turbocharger to get things going to eleven on the dial - 404 bhp (301 kW) and 408 lb-ft (553 Nm) of torque. Price is £3895 (€4,684), with a fitting charge of £595 (€716).
And to handle all that power riding on the road BBR offers BBR/Koni adjustable dampers and performance springs too that soften the harsh ride of the standard Focus RS MK2.

This does, the next gen model we will potentially get wont. Also, the nex gen car will almost certainly be awd and will make a good bit more power than the current RS does.

That seems interesting. But if it was between an Evo X and this Focus, then Evo X all the way.

Not sure if there will be anymore power.......... Ford are apparently looking at shaving a load of weight off of the next RS using carbon fibre.

The only thing i'd be concerned about with 400bhp+ on an FWD car is massive torque steer, that trick diff they have isn't that good!!!
