Just Brought Home a Mustang GT! For my son,of course : )

Surprised myself. Found a 2005 Stang GT at a Pontiac dealer. Car must have been a garage queen - 1 owner and it has 11,600 miles on it!!! Picked it up for $17K. He had saved $10K, and we went out to shop. Got sick of all the junk out there in that range. I had to co-sign, but his payment is only $170/month after the $10K down.

I think we got a great deal! Has all the options except a moon roof. Talked to my local Ford dealer (I'm friends with the owner), and he is going to hook us up with a 3/36 Ford warranty for a grand...

Um no it won't, drivers race at best. 2010 and down GTs bow down to the V6.

And you all have no reason to say ANYTHING to me. This forum section is specifically for discussion about the 5th gen Camaro. This is in the wrong section sorry.

Very nice.. I traded in my Camaro SS for the superior Mustang 5.0 recently Congrats on getting your son a nice GT.. Don't listen to many of the folks on here that can't respect new members that are not loyalists or purists..etc.. You own a Camaro SS like I did and it is a great car. A little rivalry makes things fun, however some people take things out of control for the sake of simply creating a problem. COngrats again and hope your son has a great time driving the Stang around.

What is your problem? We have no reason to say anything to you?? It seems the only reason you have for coming on here is to put people down. Get your act together, this is a friendly forum where everyone is welcome. Joe can back me up on that.

Congrats on your V6, no shame in owning one. Just be happy for this father who bought his son a first car as that is also very nice of him.

And yes, this is true by the way. HP doesn't tell the whole story; weight and torque of the 2010 and below Stangs more than make up for the HP deficit to be able to beat a V6 Camaro. Don't get me wrong, the v6 Camaro is a fast car in its own right, but you cannot compare it to a V8 Stang GT at all. Even the old Fox 5.0's of the early 80's..

"Come discuss anything and everything related to the 5th generation Camaro."

Am I wrong for expecting the content of this forum to match the description? If I wanted to read about some guys new Mustang I'd go sign up on said forum.
