2010 Silverado 2500HD

Here is Dad's new ride. It's a black Silverado 2500HD with the Duramax. It's very nice and powerful for such a heavy truck. The only gripe I have about the truck is the ridiculous looking emissions filter that is required now.

Nice ride. I have a 2004 2500HD with the Duramax and Allison transmission. With a simple tune they can make some crazy power. I wouldn't want a new one with all the emissions stuff though. Here is a shot of mine:

Sweet truck.

Dodge doesn't require that new filter on the cummins.

(But I would much rather have the chevy over the dodge)

One of the C/K HD's advantages over its competition is its lower Curb Weight so, although its "heavy", its not THE "heavyweight"...

Nice trucks!

Thanks. The bumper is a Buckstop. The version of Duramax in mine is the LLY. The LB7s had some issues with injector reliability, but mileage wise they were the best of all the Dmax versions. Each newer version of the Dmax gets progressively higher stock horsepower, worse mileage, and more emissions garbage. Because of the LB7 injector issues, I'd pick the LLY as the best version overall.

they also dont require urea injection. They met the 2010 emissions standards back in 2007

However, Dodge doesnt have the new and improved allison transmission that is in the new HD GM pickups

If I could mix and match, I'd take the cummins in a Chevy 2500HD with the allison from the factory. (dont need anything from ford...lol)

My dad just picked up a 2010 1500HD in Silver (to match my SIM and his Silver '57 Bel-Air) with the Power Plus package and 20" chrome wheels. He wanted the 2500HD but they didn't have any around in the options he wanted.

Umm, Ford owns a piece of Cummins.
