Speedy's Challenger now dubbed "Project Orange Krush"

I drop the Challenger off Monday for a little something special from Arrington Engines in Martinsville, VA. Gonna drive the car 450 miles to their shop, let them work their magic, then drive the car 450 miles home. I'm sure the drive home will be a lot more exciting. They'll have the car May 24 - 28th.

Here's a preview of what I've done thus far....video of gauge installs on my website at www.speedysgarage.net. I detailed the whole process and even give a lesson on proper soldering technique to boot.

I know a lot of you guys have superchargers on your cars, but I see very few that have the proper gauges installed. That should always be step one for forced induction setups.

I used a Innovate LC-1 to monitor air fuel ratio, and that'll feed my Aeroforce Interceptor gauge (very cool piece). For boost I just used a mechanical Autometer C2 since it most closely matched the factory dash gauges. Everything is wired and installed to be factory or better.

More to come.....

Very cool Speedy. Keep us posted on your ride, and we need videos of the drive home !!! (Well, except for the video with the lights in your rear view and the ticket...lol)

Nice.

Great build. Arnt the 5.7L Hemi's soppose to handle boost better then the 6.1L weak piston ring lands. If thats the case is the 5.7L the way to go if your going FI.

The 5.7 is actually a more stout motor than the 6.1....however I'm having this one forged with custom pistons that will have plenty of meat in the ring land department. As part of that they're gonna give it just a bit of stroke ending up with a 6.0L when all is said and done.

Cam, valve job, and a few other goodies thrown in for good measure.

Ok I'm back...car's phenomenal. Since you guys are sort of the competition I gotta keep my numbers a secret but lets just say torque was well north of 600 ft/lbs

Here's a few pics from the build.....Arrington is starting to get in to Camaros as well and they are a TOP NOTCH shop so I'd urge anyone looking to do a build to contact Alex over there and see what they offer for your rides. These guys build NASCAR engines and really know what they're doing. Multi million dollar facility and equipment.

There'll be some videos and more pics up on my website as well.

Dropping the car off

Forged Pistons

Assembled short block with blower cam

The tear down

The build up

Tuned on the dyno

Sexy...love the fact the motor is Hemi Orange...did they do that or is the engine orange from the factory?

Beautiful car. And I am really glad to see all of the above posts were from car people, not fan boys.

Thanks man. The block was black from the factory. I requested it be custom painted Hemi Orange. I'm not sure what kind of paint they used but it's THICK. It actually made sharp edges feel rounded off. Whatever it was I was told it was a two part product that Mopar uses for their engines, so it's a factory paint whatever it is.
