SVT Raptor 6.2, found this interesting.

Well, the local Ford dealer has had a 5.4 Raptor for a couple weeks I have been oogling. I stopped by to see if there was anything new and low and behold there was a second Raptor, so of course I had to oogle it too LOL. Anyways, found this interesting, the gas mileage on the 5.4 is rated on the sticker (14/18 or something like that), but on the 6.2 it just states "this vehicle is not required to be tested for fuel mileage". Being a 1/3 ton, I thought all 1/2 tons had to be, but not 3/4 tons and up? Anywho, thought that was interesting.

Its all based on weight. Once you exceed a certain gross vehicle weight rating you no longer need to have EPA certified fuel economy numbers. One of the consequences of this is that the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid exceeds the limit and doesn't help them at all CAFE wise.

If they made all cars that heavy can they get away from the new EPA regs in 2016?

Theoretically, yes. Though I don't think many customers would be too happy if the Corvette doubles in weight.

I am sure the government would put a stop to that quickly.
