What kind of a "character" was your father (and or mother)

this was on one of the other forums & i posted my story over there & was wondering about other forums. what are their parents like.

Here are my two posts on the other forum:
My dad was never really around much but when he was around, didnt want to be around us girls.

My mom wasnt much better, well she liked the two older girls because they were old enough to do what she wanted.

I always came home to an empty house, did my chores then went out to ride my horses

2nd post after someone made a comment about their father drinking.:

it wasnt drinking that took my dad away from us, it was women & his friends in the military, he brought home several young men for my mom & my older sister that way they would leave him alone. He too was a vietnam vet.

My mom was everyone elses wife (if you get my drift) & every one elses mom but mine

it wasnt even a week that would go by growing up, that the cops werent called after we moved off base in to our own place here just miles from where I sit now.

after 87 when my dad had his heartattack, (when he woke up he knew everyone in the family but me, his two kids were my two sisters he didnt have 3 daughters he had two) my mom married a child molester & I was moved from family member to family member, because i couldnt live at home.

my cousin said enough was enough. He called his wife who was living in town with their 3 daughters I told her to move me in. He got out of the navy by claiming he was on drugs. when he came home He was my father. until the family break up, then I was moved back home Not to have contact with him again until I was married & Had kids myself, He was Killed last april when he was walking across the street in calif.

Dec 91 JDIVEY7(my brother in law is on the other forum) & his wife made steps to move me away from the family. waiting until my mom & the man she married went out of town, to move me & my two horses off the place & out of their control. I moved in with JDIvey7's parents who became wonderful parents for a 17yr old (soon to be 18 ( I turned 18 20 days after I moved in with them) girl who was scared of her own shadow, got me through high school by getting on my case about my grades & protected me from those who gave birth to me.

On August 93 I became legal member of the family when I married Jdivey7s youngest brother. In Nov of 98 with Zhawk in Tx in training for the AF, His Dad passed away. only seeing his youngest two grand children once (my daughter & my sister in laws son, Just born months apart). I still think of him as my dad because not only was he there for me, unlike any other man, but he was my rock.

life sucked growing up but I am making what is best for my family I have now. Cops are never called, No one is threating to kill each other, or to kill themselves. No beatings, but on the race track or on the car show ring lol.

Now the next Generation is coming up, My kids, they dont know much about my life before, but they know enough that they dont want to want to know either of my parents.

I'm not into sharing such information with people that I really don't know. Suffice it to say that he is tough but caring and I respect him, we're not into the whole lovey dovey thing, I mean sure we love each other but we're into the "old fashioned" kind of way, love exists for each other, but we don't go around saying it out loud. We're into the he already walked the path, now I'm going to try it my own way
