Dinner tonight

Tonight I made a Almost totally homemade chicken noodle soup with homemade wheat noodles.

the reason why I said Almost totally homemade is because the brooth was store bought, but the noodles were homemade. with a simple set up. I only used half of what I made, so the rest is drying for dinner later in the week.

I loved doing it, & got alot of praise from the kids & my husband. Once I get the noodles down & can start doing more. Next step is making bread lol

That sounds soooo good. I live chicken noodle soup. My grandmother used to make homemade noodles for different dishes all the time. But my fiance has stage 3 celiac disease (allergy to gluten which is in wheat) meaning I can barely have store bought bread in the house, let alone homemade noodles

My mother in law takes great pride in her homemade noodles and my kids love them. One time I served some ramen noodles and the kids said they were so good they were even better than Mammas'. I guess I shouldn't have told her that. Lol

the only thing I had a recipe for was the noodles lol, Normally I dont use recipes lol.
It was Half a large sweet oinion & Half a red oinion chopped to large chunks
carrots sliced
broc cut in to large chuncks
Mushrooms sliced
1 box chicken broth

sweat veeggies for 10 to 15 mins add broth, let cook as you cook it add more water to to top & season to taste (I just used more broth, by using a chicken tomato broth in a jar that was almost gone)

do home made noodles & follow instructions.

let cook about an hour (just the veggies & broth) until veggies are tender.

Ok here they go
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 Tablespoom oil (I used olive oil)
1cup boiling water

Mix together flour & salt, then make hole in center add eggs & oil, pour in water & stir quickly until a stiff dough is formed (may need to add more flour I think I used 3 full cups)

Place dough on a heavily flowered surface & knead for 10mins until the dough because smooth & elastic, cover with plastic wrap (or a ziplock bag) for 30 mins to an hour

cut dough in half dust work area with flour
roll out each half to favorate thinkness of noodles, cut in to favorate size
let dry for an hour ( I didnt)

drop in to boiling salted water for a few mins

what you dont use dry until totally dry & put in ziplock bag in freezer for 3 months or in cooler for 3days.
