$4.49 in Nashville, TN 9/13/08. Station started raising prices as much as $1 a gallon yesterday afternoon. Glad I filled up yesterday morning for $3.51.

I tried to call the consumer hotline to report the stations with $4.49 gas for gouging, but the vm box was FULL.

Most Stations Here In central TEXAS..WELL Burnet county anyway have ALL GRADES OF GAS @ THE SAME PRICE.... 3.69 @ HEB..3.65 @ WALMART. 3.61 @ VALERO..ETC,ETC.MEANING ALL GRADES OF GAS @ HEB IS 3.69. WALMART 3.65..ETC..ETC . Most every place is within 5-10 cents of each other..

ALTHOUGH A LIL story..FRI am MURPHY's @ WALMART gas was @ 3.52 (87) 6:30AM and @ 4:15PM Had Gone Up To 3.85(87)..33 CENTS IN 8 Hours!!. While everyone else had NOT raised Their Prices..NOW they are back about the same.. Wonder How Many Calls/Emails.. Their Corp HQ got over that..I Think That IS BLATENT PRICE GOUGING.. I Mean hell the Ike was still like 18 hours away..

About $3.99/gallon for regular here. It was higher than that during the summer for a couple of months, and only about 30 cents higher than it was last week, but people here are going nuts.

$3.53 at the Marine Corp Recruit Depot in San Diego, Ca where my brother in law just graduated from basic training. God bless our servicemen.

I'm not too worried. This spike will probably be temporary since it is just weather related. I'll drive as little as possible in the next few weeks.
