Is the G8 going to offer a manual in their cars?

i remember hearing they were, and then Lutz saying it wasnt happening, does anyone know the final verdict?

I think it will be offered on other models, too, but I don't know when.

They won't.

The GT has the cylinder deactivation, so no stick for it.

I just want them to build the G8 coupe AND offer a 6MT. I hope it doesn't come out a year after I get my SS/RS and make me second-guess if I should've waited (I've been more of a Pontiac fan than Chevy fan, most of my life, anyway). However, I'm not impressed with the G8's interior--very bland IMHO, especially the guages. Even the G6's interior looks better to me. Oh well; 'still a performance bargain, compared to others that cost the same or more.

There is no reason that the G8 GT couldn't have two V8s like the SS will.

Manual is only going in the GXP, they have no plans on offering one in the GT.

G8 coupe probably won't happen, especially with CAFE and the fact that GM is gearing Pontiac more towards FWD.

Yep, a couple years ago GM announced Pontiac was going to be the all RWD true performance division, hence the Solstice and G8. Then CAFE hit, and a couple weeks ago they announce Pontiac was going to be the all small efficient FWD car division.

since the G8 is the flagship car, lets just randomly say that something might be in the works to even out the amount of dollars spent making the G8 and Camaro... like, say, the 300hp DI V6 making its way into the lineup and the L99 being the GT's engine (which will raise the price of the G8 GT up to say, $34-36k, and then a GXP might come in at a base price of $38k with the LS3, 6MT and some nifty trim packages (including wheels) that differentiate it from the G8 GT.

but that's all just speculation on my part
