Got back in a RAM 1500

Picked up a 2025 RAM Limited Longhorn SST H.O.

I really wanted to wait for the Ramcharger but decided on this one.

Pearl White, Straight Six Turbo High Output. 540hp 521torque. 4.2 0-60 and 12.8 1/4mile - yeah, because you need that

Very loaded but not a Tungsten.

Very nice ride. Hope you got the warranty for when that turbo goes out, you don’t want a heavy paper weight in the driveway.

That turbo will last longer than the lifters in any GM truck these days.

Congrats! Thats way fancier than the truck I picked up that you have helped me out with in regards to towing. While I am a V8 guy I know that these twin turbo V6’s make nasty torque. I was actually trying to get a Ford 2.7 V6 instead of my 5.0 but it didn’t work out unfortunately. Also I hope this is in addition to your Mustang and not a replacement! How has your Mustang been holding up? Do you still like it?

I do have the Mustang still. It is doing good. I would rather have my 2020 2SS Camaro! But that shit the bed. Still very pissed about it. And goes to show that even a "bullet proof" pushrod can cause problems.

I am not "scared of the turbo" or "supercharger" like a lot of folks. You just have to do your maintenance and hope for the best. I mean even the best of the bunch falls off hard, go look at the latest Tundra.

The 5.0 in that truck will be fine. I got Fancy because it is my last vehicle purchase (I HOPE!) and wanted something to ride off in the sunset

Yeah man just monitor the oil lines to the turbos. At least that’s what shits the bed first causing the turbo’s to fail on the Fords. If you catch it early the turbo will not fail (and it won’t fail if you catch it after a few 1000 mile. It takes awhile).

Only has ~200 miles so I have not rounded out the power, no heavy throttle yet, but initial thoughts far, the power is freaking super smooth - you can feel it, hard to explain. The ZF tranny is obviously a plus.

It is super quiet - good or bad depending on your opinion. You can hear the turbos at idle outside of the truck. Not too much but enough to know they are there.

I look forward to the ~300-500 mile oil change and then a bit of shenanigans.

A turbo or supercharger is fun, but like you said do your maintenance. Always pay close attention to leaks in your coolant system because the lines near the turbo’s on will get brittle quick.

The coolant lines near the turbo’s on the EcoShit motors and even the on the 6.7’s are notorious for leaking at 10k miles and even less. I hope Dodge has better coolant connectors, are routed better and are protected better than what Ford has done.

Nice truck....congrats.

I've heard those new engines run pretty fantastic. Hopefully reliability is also good. The ZF 8 speed seems to be pretty solid.

Love the RAM interiors. Now days, all the big name truck interiors are really nice, but in 2019 RAM changed the game with their interior. compared to the others. It wasn't even close.
