* * * * Thank you Janesville WI GM Employees & AAG * * * *

Thanks you for all the hard work you have done for GM over the years...The plant closing was a major blow to Wisconsin. You made vehicles of GREAT QUALITY, which helped people like me sell them on the lots. People LOOKED for that Janesville decal inside the door, they knew it made a difference.

I think GM made a mistake closing the plant - it is difficult to get trucks now, and we lose customers to other brands because of availability.

The State of Wisconsin also failed MISERABLY in getting GM to build a new model here, and re-open the plant. Once the home to major US manufacturing, plants here have shut down at a record pace in the last 8 years.

The distribution yard has remained open - in fact all of the 40+ Camaro's that were delivered by me arrived by rail there.......And now I was informed today by one of the drivers, that many are losing their jobs. The Camaro's and many other GM cars will now come through another method...possibly creating longer delivery times.

Myself and many of my dealership co-workers are very disappointed to see Janesville just fade away from GM - almost unnoticed to most....leaving many unemployed. I know some moved to other GM plants, but many did not. Many customers had a loyalty to GM because of the Janesville plant. A loyalty that seems to have faded.

I can only hope that someday very soon, GM finds the value in that location, and the value of the people that once worked there.

I thank you for making many of my own cars over the years, and I hope the best for all of you, to get through.

Janesville should be re-opened to help build Equinox and Terrain. Dealers are short of these high-demand vehicles and the projections for CUV sales in the US are through the roof. Ultimately, I would like to see all Equinox/Terrains built at Janesville. Due to the expected huge growth in the CUV segment, GM would be wise to put major emphasis on their CUV's and plant retooling going forward.

Lutz was just talking about the possibility of getting a labor intensive plant (less automation equipment) up and running to help with capacity issues, but no word as to where it might go... Janesville certainly is an option, though Spring Hill is, too.

I'd go with Janesville all the way...both WI and the local union would be more likely to work with GM, both on the interim and long-term basis, to get those jobs back and keep them there. Spring Hill is non-Union. I'd rather have a vehicle built by a union worker who gets a decent pay. The new GM starting pay is reported to be $14.00 an hour...I don't see good quality work coming out of that. To make toaster ovens, I guess $14.00 an hour would be o.k. pay, but not for building something as important (and expensive) as an automobile. Case in point: Toyota America.
