Brake Pads

What brake pads would you recommend for a novice on his first track day? Spent the last two nights doing searches and some people like Hawks HP Plus but others don't. According to Hawks website they should be adequate.

EBC either yellow or red stuff. yellow is better if you will be doing mostly street driving.

OEM Brembo’s burnished correctly per your manual are just fine as you are not running any excessive HP.

Thanks, that was what I was hoping for.

If anyone can confirm the part numbers below it would be greatly appreciated.

Front: 25940447
Rear: 89047744

Front Disc Brake Pad Set - GM (25940447)

Brake Pads REAR - GM (89047744)

If you are going to be doing it a lot change your fluid to DOT 4. If you have a temp gun take it so you don't boil the fluid at the caliper. Depending on the track and the day temperatures they could go to 800 - 1000 F. If you come off track after a cool down lap an they are still above 600 I would park it for a while before the next series.

Changing to Dot 4 brake fluid is on the list before I do the track day.

Anyone know if these are the correct front brakes? Amazon shows a different part number but when I do a search on 25940447 this is what shows sup.

I've been running Power Stop brand via RockAuto, very dusty and very noisy but very effective! Paired with blank rotors and DOT4. Roughly 10-15 track days under my belt now (starting as Novice).
I should mention i think my cheap blank rotors have some warping, diving into brakes at 100+ gets a little shaky...
