2013 V6 PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have a 2013 1LT and recently I have had to start jump starting the car!!! There is no check engine light on, it holds at 14.7v while running. Within the last few days, the radio and dash lights have been shutting off while driving and coming back on and flickering some. Is this possibly just a bad battery or cell??? I haven't had a chance to get it checked yet due to my work schedule. Any thoughts?????

Thanks!!!!!!!!

How do you know the battery is holding 14.7vdc while running? If ur getting that info from ur cars instruments that's just displaying the voltage at your battery and since it's running that voltage u see is coming from the alternator....better change that battery before u burn that out too.

AGREE! best guess is battery is shot. the "volts" youre seeing is the alternator attempting to charge that dead a$$ battery...and low voltage gives these cars some crazy things...

The display tells you the charging voltage, not the battery voltage.

If it never goes down no matter how long you drive, suspecting the battery!

Battery, especially if it's original, I would do it anyway. Good luck.

Agree with all the above... Change the battery... When they go bad, all kinds of weird stuff starts happening with these cars.

Would be nice if you could check the wiring, first. Some guys blame their battery/alternator when the real culprit is bad/broken wire (poor ground, rodent infestation, etc). Have your battery and alternator checked at AutoZone/Advance before purchasing one.

Especially if it’s the original battery. It’s due for a change, more than likely. But, as Elder states, wouldn’t hurt to get the battery and charging system checked.
