Hennessey Venom F5 271 mph in Car Video

The Hennessey Venom F5 is an American Supercar that easily hit 271 mph in prototype testing. It has a 6.6 liter twin turbo V8 making 1,817 hp. In the video, the driver doesn't even get on it fully until after 130 mph. I timed the 130-200 mph time split from the video at ~6.1 seconds. Car and Driver just tested a Bugatti Chiron Sport with 1,578 hp and it did the 1/4 mile in 9.1 @ 161 mph (on asphalt surface, not a prepped track). For comparison, the Chiron Sport's 130-200 mph time recorded by C&D was 8.7 seconds and it's 60-130 time was only 3.9 secs. That means at 130+ mph the Venom is accelerating about 43% harder than the nearly 1,600 hp Chiron Sport. The Venom's 60-130 mph time might be in the upper 2s.

It looks awesome, and it sounds epic, not like the shriek of most supercars.

Very cool!! Sounded like a jet fighter when it flashed by the camera on the fly by. Awesome!!

Y’all need a longer runway. Would love to see what this would do with a few more miles of space
