New 2022 2SS 1LE owner/Camaro6 member

New Camaro6 member. Lurking for about a year and a half while in pursuit of my new 6th gen. This forum was invaluable in my quest, hopefully as I get more seat time in the car I can pass along something to someone in return. Thanks for the resource!

I managed to pick up a black 2SS 1LE 6mt with nav, pdr, sunroof, sport pedals, and embroidered console lid for $2200 below MSRP from Davidson Chevrolet in CT. It was a winter special price and I put a deposit on it as soon as I saw it on the GM website as in transit. I was able to take advantage of the current GM financing promo, so I think I made out pretty good on this deal. Like most guys trying to get into a Camaro these days I've been through a year and a half of ups and downs trying to put one in the stable. Test driving used ones, dealing with the price gouging and teaser prices, allocation and order constraints, etc. I was patient and finally found the right car with the right dealer. Davidson Chevy was awesome to do business with. Straight shooters, zero BS, and genuinely nice people to work with. Rare to find these days!

I've had various GM cars and trucks over the years. I've been fabricating, tuning, and building cars at a professional level for about 20 years give or take, although I've moved on to industrial fabrication as my main line of work. I wanted to get into a car that was damn good out of the box and this car was the only thing that seemed to do it for me. I don't need another project, just a good well balance car to blast around in, lol. The majority of my race car experience is with turbocharged drag cars, but I am fluent with road race car fabrication and setups as well. I spent quite a bit of time hanging around Loudon and Limerock years ago and have intentions of hitting some HPDE days with the car at some point. My father and I have been running a 71 Nova small block drag car with twin 72mm turbos for years. We recently updated the chassis and hope to clip the 7 second zone this year.

I plan on swapping tires on the Camaro to get as much driving in New England as possible. I'll buy a second set of wheels when the time comes to hit a track day. The car is getting Xpel shortly after the paint correction and I have rock guards, lift points, and a skip shift eliminator for it already.

It should be in my driveway by Friday. It's been a long time since I have been this excited to get into a car. I can't wait to get the plates and break this thing in!

Congrats! My initial thoughts was that I was going to hate the limited view out, but as per everyone in here, it didn't take very long to get used to it. And, it helps when you have enough power to accelerate fast enough to get people out of your blind spot. But, yes we need pics!

I thought the same thing with the visibility when I first sat in one. After driving around for a few minutes that thought disappeared and I realized it was really not much different than my prior 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gen cars. They all had their individual challenges too. The driving exerience with the 6th gen blows them all out of the water. Don't get me wrong, I loved them all, but this car is the most capable by a long shot.

Its obvious these cars were built for a specific purpose, and they hit the nail on the head IMO. I think many people forget that if you design a car that pleases everyone, you end up making compromises that take away from what it was initially made to do.

Chevrolet should have marketed this car better. Its so immersive to drive. I wonder how many car guys have passed these up for other options without ever giving them a drive. If the 6th gen really is the end of the line, at least they built the best version of the Camaro yet as far as I'm concerned.

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Black is an awesomely menacing color but man it's a pain to keep clean. I used to have a big black Silverado and one time I spent all day detailing it in the hot Texas summer and the next day it rained. I called in sick only because I wasn't taking the truck out into the rain.
