ZL1/1LE Vengeance Build
Whats up gentlemen, I have followed these forums for the last few years never really participated in conversation or posted. Lately I've been combing through posts and trying to gain knowledge and make decisions on a build for my 19' ZL1/1LE. This will be my second build with Vengeance the first was my 14' 1LE that had a Stage 3 package. Currently I have this build set for Sept and I am curious to see what numbers will be! Also, I am torn between porting stock 1.7 or upgrading blower. I guess my question would be is it more beneficial to just do a blower swap and wait to do cam, heads etc or continue with current build? Not looking for 800+rwhp realistically 750rwhp is the goal. I appreciate any input and estimates of power this build will put down. I have talked to David about the current build just looking for other opinions here with comparable builds and situations.

My guess 720-730whp without meth
Why not add upgraded HE's whilst your at it? |

That is one of the options I'm considering!!! Add HE's and keep 1.7 but even then your over 2k invested in the stock blower without room to move up.

I don't think anyone's opinion here is going to be better than what Vengeance recommends. I would stick to what they recommend, after all that's why they're one of the best shops in the country. Trying to second guess them doesn't make a lot of sense. I have the Vengeance stage III package and couldn't be more pleased.

Not trying to second guess them at all! I just wanted to see if anyone here had experience or had second guessed not upgrading the S/C. It is a matter of being cost effective and trying to gauge the route in which the motor is upgraded. Also, asking for input here is a hell of a lot easier than calling the shop from Iraq to ask every little question. So yes it makes perfect sense and trust me I appreciate your input.

If you'll be happy at 750, and don't road course the car, I bet you'll be totally fine with what Vengeance has already said. As long as you are being honest with yourself about your goals and what the use of the car will be, and you have communicated that clearly to them, they'll get you what you want. If you think you'll want more power down the line, and are going to be running the car hard, and for a long time (like around a road course), it might be better to bite the bullet, and just get a bigger blower. Why put a third of the money toward a new blower toward upgrading one you'll just get rid of later? Money doesn't grow on trees, though, so I'd just make a plan your happy with, and make sure they know, and they have a good enough reputation that you'll get what you want.

radz28 this is exactly what I am trying to figure out! I have sent an email to David and asked these questions. I'm sure I will get exactly what I want. Vengeance has done 3 cars in my family and not one has been short of amazing!! I guess I should have phrased my question differently

I have almost same set up but cam from Cammotion and stock suit case exhaust, and 9.1 lower. I did have a 2.3 upper and meth. That netted me 780whp. I was happy with how the car behaved so took off the 2.3 for a 2.5 griptec and removed the meth. Then of course tune. Loving it and no regrets. Lots of power. Tons of torque.

Obviously I have plenty of time to finalize the particulars of the build seeing as the car wont be delivered until mid Sept.. I will update the thread with final decisions on what exactly will be done. I appreciate all of the input keep it coming there is a wealth of knowledge throughout the forum for me to read and that generates more questions. I plan to talk with Vengeance this week I will update as soon as I know more.

With 700whp what type of traction do you have with street tires such as the PS4's?

Currently I have PS4's and Stock in the garage. I would like to try the Super Cup 2R when they come out with the right size.

On the street 1st and 2nd can't take the HP, maybe 2nd if tires are warm, clean and road surface is good. This is my experience with this level of HP and tires.
