Laguna Seca

Anyone that’s run Laguna Seca have direct knowledge if
My 2014 Camaro SS 1LE w NPP exhaust
Stock w CAI no tune.
Will I set off trap decibel meter?
I think it’s going to be a 90db day.

I’ve heard db levels on NPP db all over the place.

How does Laguna test?
Can I get further away/opposite side tract of microphone?
1 or 2 mic traps?
Will letting off throttle at mic work and still get me descent laps in?

Damn.
I thought I’d get some response.
Where else can I ask this and get a response?
Anyone?

Go into a higher gear up the hill... or figure out a way to keep the exhaust closed ... you will go over 90 with open flaps

Yeah if I can short shift into taller gear or get out of throttle and get by that mic dB would be ideal.

I’d hate to spend the money to get black flagged 3 times n loose my sessions and booted.

It’s my only time I’ll run Laguna as I have upgrades when I get back.

We have similar sound restrictions here at Portland International Raceway. It is, I believe, 105db as the limit.
After putting on cat-less headers, I was blowing by their sound monitors at 108db. I had to let off on the throttle when passing the sound monitors, which is no fun.
Luckily, most of the officials there are pretty lax and wont kick you off.

However, later this coming summer, I plan on taking my dad on a road trip down to Laguna Seca for his 70th birthday and taking him around one of the US's most famous race tracks.
I will defiantly get in trouble with a 90db limit.

Letting off the throttle in the spots where they keep the testing equipment is the best bet.

If you are serious about tracking often at Laguna or any place that has tight sound restrictions, I have heard stories of people welding on V-bands on their mufflers and buying a second set of quieter mufflers so they can quickly swap them at the track...

No worries at Laguna Seca w NPP exhaust.
Only issue is trans was slipping. I cant wait any longer for clutch.
I had to cut last session short.
Best lap on street tires 1:53. There probably another couple seconds in there as it was my first time there.

Lets see if i can upload a vid.
No vid upload. Too much data from the track addict alp
