Car shake after replacing tires

My tires needed to be changed I have 20x9 front with 245s, and 20x10 in the back with 275s, got great deal on a used set they're barely used but I put 265x40 and 315/35, not sure if its the tires size or cuz my old ones needed to be replaced but the ride got really REALLY comfortable on the road, however on higher speeds like 60mph the steering wheel shake a lot, also happens the same when I hit the brake, what could be the problem? Is it the new size or just needed balancing or something?

It could simply be imbalance. Some stores don’t calibrate their balances as regularly as they should. But...if it’s a crappy, out-of-round tire or set, they’ll balance out on the machine but there is no fixing the vibration when they roll on the road.

It most likely is the size difference. With your setup there's a difference in diameter, sidewall, and circumference. Go on any tire size calculator website and input your info you'll see the difference. Try to find 275/40 tires for the front or go smaller and you'll be good. I'm running 275/40/20 and 315/35/20 good luck.

sounds like it's the balance OR your lugs got tightened too much and warped your rotors, the size of your tires aren't that far off, circumference of the 265's is 89 and the 315's is 90.the revolutions per mile is 703(315's) and 711(265's),sidewalls are,4.34 & 4.17,Also,have the tires checked for shifted belts.
Good Luck!

Did you balance the front wheels when you put the new tires on?

Warped rotors from not applying an equal torque on the lugs.

For the folks saying the wheel diameter is a consideration- why? If the the left and right pairs match in size, what is the issue with front and back having different diameters?

I had this problem, It was they needed to be road balanced. the bigger tires need a special balance. I bought the tires used and they did balance them on there machine.
Mine would vibrate badly when i got up to 65 - 75 I just took mine to a good shop and had them road balanced.
I watched them do it, it was kinda different, they would mount the tire run it and then the machine would tell them to rotate the tire around the rim a little or a lot. This might take a couple of trys.
Then they balanced it the last time with weights

Those are good tires, lots of Grip, I liked mine.
And the Pattern on the tire was Crazy.

The ones I got are the nittos they're late 2019 and the fronts are continental, I got all of them for like $150 which is something incredibly amazing but then again this is the price range in Dubai, everything is cheap around here!

While it may be Road Force Balancing that is needed, you need to consider the other possibility....Why were these tires discarded by the previous owner?

Buying used tires always involves a risk. Not judging, I have had to do it multiple times, even on this car. But I got lucky each time, knowing that the issue you are dealing with was always possible.

This.

Some tires are so defective that road force balance won't fix them.

The idea behind road force balance is that it compensates for irregularities in sidewall stiffness, but there's a limit to what that correction can do. I had a brand new van once with terrible tires from the factory. Road force balance did nothing to fix the shake. It was a waste of money and I got no satisfaction from the tire warranty either. At the time, i couldn't afford to replace the tires so I drove on them until they wore out. New tires: problem solved.

Buying used tires? No way.

Add that those tires are WAY oversized for the wheels you have them on. Balancing can be an even greater challenge.

I'm confused. 265 is the correct size for his 9" front wheel, and 315 is just slightly oversized for his 10" rears. He should have zero issues running those tires on his rims. Unless he has factory rims and is quoting the wrong rim size.
