Drops of Oil

I am seeing a few drops of Oil every now and then on my garage floor,

The SS 1LE is almost new, had purchased it at 2250 miles and since have driven only about 400 miles.

Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

Thanks.

Oil changed recently? Could be residual oil that got onto the undercarriage when the filter was removed.

Check your oil pan bolts, not sure if you have a 19 but my 17 came from the factory with loose oil pan bolts. I forgot the torque on them but there are threads on here about it.

i dont think without any info on where you're seeing the oil under your car falling from ...like a picture of the area of the car directly above the pools...nobody is going to be able to tell you anything.

Obviously it's not normal, so ....

Yes, the dealer had changed oil prior to the sale.

I’d get under there if possible and wipe down the underside. Get as much oil wiped up as you can see. Check that the filter is tight (just turn by hand). Also check the oil drain plug is tight. Recheck in a few days to see if you can spot where the oil is coming from if it continues leaking.

I agree with what other said about checking filter and drain plug. However, like cmitchell17 said, check those oil pan bolts. Mine were also loose and I noticed a small drip at second oil change.

Mine turned out to be a bad oil pan gasket and was replaced under my powertrain warranty.

I had the exact same issue after the dealer changed the oil in my ZL1. Turned out to be the oil filter.

It was so loose, I had to turn it one complete revolution to get it tight.

Check your filter.

When the filter is loose, oil collects on the underside of the filter. When the drain plug is loose, oil collects on the underside of the drain plug.

It's great to get sight unseen opinions here in the forum, but nothing beats getting under the car as a first step.

I agree with Jeb114! Run it back to the dealer and let them check it out.

So, it has been 2 days and the OP still hasn't checked under his car?

Man, when I found oil on my driveway, I was under it in a matter of hours...
