Exhaust or intake first?

I got 1200 miles on my car and it needs more noise goodness.

Borla stype or atak axleback with npp is expensive but is it worth it over stock npp?

Or GM intake. I heard California can't get the tune with this. Do I care? How much noise goodness will I get compared to say the exhaust? It's cheaper.

I know these are rather mundane questions, I've modded before and I think the exhaust was the best part but my car has npp and curious how much louder/ better borla stypes or atak would be.

I kept my stock NPP and went with the borla 60606 midpipe. Sounds perfect to me.

Doesn’t matter. The car removal mid pipes have been discontinued. Axleback is the way I’d go. Skip any midpipes.

Ported stock intake manifold, throttle body, and rotofab. 3 mods that you can do without tuning that will add 20-25whp and cost less then a exhaust that doesn't add anything but noise.

Hmmmm ok options. Considering I'm still early in the warranty game I might just do the GM intake. Then once things seem fine for a bunch more miles do the other mods you guys suggested. Didint even know. Appreciated!

We usually recommend jumping into long tube headers before doing an exhaust. The stock NPP sounds pretty great with long tubes. I know it's difficult in CA but it really is a great option. Dealers shouldn't care to much about them either. We bring some pretty extreme cars in for warranty work all the time.

don't you have to tune for long tube headers?

You should tune for long tubes. It won't hurt anything to drive a bit without a tune but it should be done eventually.

Personally, come Spring, Il be doing the exhaust end first due to the facts you just mentioned. I dont want to be messing with any intake stuff til I get some miles on my car. I had a bad experience with a Dealer / GM on my 2012 Duramax over a S & B CAI. I had to argue like a Mfer to get my warranty claim covered. I wont put myself in that spot again. Ill put a catback on it and put some more miles on it before I start addressing anything else on the car. Going by my research a AWE with the link pipes bolt right on with no cutting. If bad things happen I can throw the old exhaust on before I take the car back in to a dealer.

I'm partial to the Borla atak it's a really great sounding product but we have a few other good options available as well.

Feel free to give me a call if you want any info or to talk about pricing. Or send me a private message.
