Not adding a sub or any stereo mods, I'm just wondering if anyone has disabled the ANM for the sake of it and any positive or negative results. Not thrilled to have my environment filtered and fed back to me.

I disabled mine because it was causing a weird sound with my exhaust after adding long tube headers. No negative effects at all that I've noticed.

Thanks, that was where I was going. No telling what this thing is interpreting my AWE exhaust sound to be and trying to correct it. I purchased a delete harness that installs inline with the amp in the trunk and interrupts the two microphone feeds, it's out for delivery today so we'll see.

I ended up using the same harness. Works great, super simple, clean install.

Got it and installed it, took longer to empty the trunk than it took to install. Took the car for a back road/highway 60+ mile ride, the best $23 dollars I've spent on this car. My exhaust now sounds inside with the windows up like it does with the windows and sunroof open, less low frequency muddling and more better, I can hear it thrum at stoplights now. What I attributed to road/tire noise is diminished, funny last summer I removed all the covers and electronics from the trunk and coated it in Dynomat material and it really didn't do much. Hard to pin it down but I like it much better without Bose pumping artificial noise into the cabin, took the sound tube out shortly after getting the car for the same reason. As always YMMV.

Cool, glad I'm not the only one that noticed the weirdness. It was always to odd to me how awesome the car sounded from the outside (my dad drives it sometimes), or with the windows down, or next to a highway divider, or under an overpass; but with the windows up it just didn't sound right.

When I did headers and corsa on my gen 5 it sounded great inside and out. Hell, this car sounded nice inside and out prior to the headers - just not loud enough.

It has me thinking "why the hell even put that in these cars in the first place?" I mean I get it for like a BMW or Merc, or some kind of luxury cruiser, but why the Camaro? I'm assuming this software was licensed from Bose (cost). The microphones (cost), and wiring (cost), and engineering to add it to the car (cost) had to cost something. Therefore someone (in theory) had to do some kind of cost/benefit analysis and decided that some percentage of people that were considering purchasing a Camaro would be swayed by this feature. Or maybe not. Hell, maybe it was free with the Bose amp and Al O decided that since it was there he might as well use it. Who knows. It's kind of a dumb feature though. I guess I'm done rambling now.

I didn’t even realize these cars had this feature. Do all 6gen camaros have it or is it with only select packages? I wonder if it is also used against drone? I hate cars that drone and luckily the Borla system I put on mine does not. I went through 5 variations of custome exhaust setups on my 03 Cobra trying to eliminate or drastically reduce drone. I would have left the stock exhaust on it but I bought it used and it had flowmaster mufflers already. Those got replaced immediately with a packed muffler.

It is standard in the 2LT, 2SS and ZL1 with the Bose seven speaker system (2018) anyway.

Since you hace a non permanent adapter. Is there anyway you could do an a-b test for us? Decibel meter on you phone on the same highway or road? Would like to see the difference The noise canceling is under normal driving
