2019 tail lights on 2016 camaro

so ever since the refresh came out I just been in love with the new tail lights and I’m looking to switch out my 2016 smoked tail lights for the smoked out 2019 tail lights but now that I’m looking at more pictures I’m wondering if I need to change the rear bumper to house the lights properly

it will probably work as i think the lights still fit the same way, but without the bumper notch they might look odd

You might also need to buy the new 2019 diffuser, I haven't seen any confirmation that 2016 diffuser will fit the 2019 bumper. It looks like it might, but pictures mean nothing since the whole shape along the bottom of the 2019 bumper is different.

Has anyone done that yet? Can the 2019 tail lights be retrofitted without a bumper change?

Yep, it's just a matter of cutting off the top few inches of your bumper with a power saw. Easy peasy. If the lamps manage to wiggle out and fall onto the road, just keep buying new ones.

Someone on the forum did set in a 2019 in a 2016-18 and they do fit. They didn't close the trunk so I am not exactly sure if there is any fit issue or not. But I am pretty sure it bolts right up. Do what you want to your car, its yours. Naysayer's be damned.
