I hate my speakers!!! What can I do?!

I got the stupid boston acoustics, the front right passenger speaker rattles like a bitch!!

I ordered a used 1 of eBay, just replaced it and same ****ing rattle, what a waste of money.

Can I jus change with any speakers? Or will I have to change everything because it's the Boston acoustic set?

I would be inclined to think that it is not the speaker that is rattling but more likely something in the door or door panel. Having said that you can put whatever you want in there.

Nah man, it's the speaker... I have it just hanging freely and I can hear the speaker rattle it self.

The last time I heard a rattle in the door speaker, it was the quarters I had dumped in the door handle cavity.

Since the OP's rattle was not solved by replacing the speaker, the problem is probably not with the speaker.

I hear what you guys are saying, but I literally have the speaker in my hand with music on and I can hear it coming from the woofer inside both speakers

The speakers will make an odd noise if they aren't securely mounted. I wouldn't have put a factory speaker back in anyway, they are pretty cheesy, even the "high end" speakers. Maybe it's time for an upgrade with amplifiers and all.

I didn't want to put the factory 1 back in, but I read on here if I wanted to upgrade the front, I have to upgrade all? Is that true?

Cut outs and straight pipes. You'll never hear that damn speaker rattle again.

I love my factory '10 SS stereo. Still works fine after 8 years.

All my speakers are blown but because I have long tubes and straight pipes I really don't care.

BA speakers suck...You can replace with any type speaker...To make the system sound much better add sub woofer to cover the rattle...Definitely a major improvement...

For some silly reason....a sub makes these systems a whole different animal. You can replace with any other matching ohm speaker. If you do, I would suggest replacing as a set.

Make sure that the speaker isn't blown. Many times the plastics and metal of the door rattle instead of the speaker itself. If you are going through the trouble of swapping speakers, its common practice to swap with new parts or newly rebuilt parts (to avoid doing things twice...which is more likely with used parts).

Also, figure out what you are expecting from the speakers. If you are looking for deeper bass then you may not ever be totally satisfied with the door speakers. If you want deeper bass and more driving power, then you may need to research and plan on a subwoofer and amp upgrade or addition.

Its not easy planning and installing that ideal system. I've had success in the past with adding on to the existing system; You may want to seek out advice from experienced installers to figure out what you are really looking for from your speakers and system.
