2017 F-150 with gen2 3.5 Ecoboost and 10speed Auto

So I've been looking and comparing trucks for a long time and finally decided on the Ford. I've always been a Chevy guy but I really like the ecoboost setup. And with the new gen2 motor having 470ftlbs of torque at 3500rpm paired to the new 10spd trans, I think it will be the best of both worlds and pull my trailer very well. This engine has the new fuel setup that has direct injection and port injection both so 16 fuel injectors. Also has start stop technology which isn't near as bad as I thought it would be(has a button to turn off). Just got it today but so far I love it.

Congratulations! Looks like your fender and door panel alignment is much better than mine.. My fenders stick out away from the truck where it meets the door panel.

Only scary thing is the price, I remember when a truck was the cheapest vehicle on a dealers lot. At the Detroit Auto Show I almost had a heart attack at the price on some of the high end rigs.

It's all the gosh-darn "luxury" options on these trucks.

Like a super crew configuration with a 6.5' bed (42k before a single option)

OPs Lariat is probably 54+ even with a short bed.

Any comparison to the original 3.5 ecoboost?

Yeah this one was 57k sticker and I got then down to 51k which is 2k below invoice. I though it was a pretty good deal for a '17. They would come off the '16 trucks a lot more but I really wanted this new powertrain.

I've only driven a few gen1 ecoboosts but I feel like this 10spd will really make the ecoboost shine. It makes peak torque at 3500rpm where the gen1 made it at 2500rpm. I think it might be easier to stay out of boost when you want to.

Also just discovered sport mode today which totally transforms this truck. But will have a huge effect on mpg.

And thanks for the compliments. I know it's a Ford but I had to show it off to all my Camaro buds..

Congratulations!

I read nothing but good things on the 10-speed.
It is supposed to be used in the 6th Gen ZL1.

GM will have this 10 sp in the silverado/ sierras and lower level Camaros in no time just like Ford throwing it into their trucks and Mustang.

Everyone wins

I've looked over several Ford models during their PDI, most Fords have some real panel alignment issues. Some of them don't even look like an adjustment will help.

I had the first gen 3.5 EcoBoost and I had major issues that Ford wouldn't fix even though I had video proof of cold start rattle. I traded it in and literally a week later they released a TSB to replace the cam phasers and timing chains. F em.
The New Gen 2 3.5 should be a lot more reliable. I've been following.

Beautiful truck I hope it serves you well.
