Brake ducts on 2016 Camaro

I just got my 2016 SS. Wow, what a great car!

I was wondering if anyone knows about the ducts that came in the trunk.

I have the standard brakes, maybe I'll update them at some point, but I was wondering why not just install the ducts, and leave them on?

I'm wondering why the shields are there from the factory, and why I would switch them back and forth. Seems like the ducts would be a good thing to have all the time.

Better yet, open your manual and read that. The reasons are all there..

Interesting. I did not get the big brake kit, so I'm pretty sure I'll see brake fade without the vents(on track days). It looks like I want to wait to put them on, until a track days.

It would also be a good idea, if you've not already planned for it, to run a racing brake fluid. I personally run Motul RBF600 on my '16SS and in the two cars below previously and it's been a wonderful fluid for me.

This. We switched to the same fluid in our car since we plan on thrashing it on the road course. We have the upgraded Brembo package and the combination of this fluid and the big brakes has proven to be a very solid package so far
