New SS on the lot, do I buy it?
Very tempted to add this to our stable!

Great looking car. Looks more aggressive in person and I don't think it looks like the Impala any more.

I'd go take a look at a Charger scat pack first to compare.

I don't know. I'm sure the SS is a great car to drive, but the styling isn't aggressive enough for me. I am in no way a dodge fan but that Charger is a sweet looking family car with enough power behind it as well.

Looks good but it better be on sale and you still like it more after you've driven the scat charger.

It's a 2016. And I have driven the Scat. Prefer the GM cars.

I have a feeling there's not much room for discounts on the Chevy SS . You might be able to get a heavily discounted SRT (not Scat Pack) for a similar price.
It's all about the what you prefer to drive : hard core muscle car or something sportier.

They are literally a 4 door Camaro. I love the way they drive and feel. Just a fun car to have. Scat Pack Chargers just feel "old" and just aren't near as fun to drive IMHO.
Plus, if its a manual then that's a win-win. |

I just found out they are getting 3 more in. The white one is the auto, but a black one with the M6 is coming soon. I personally have grown weary of manuals having owned them for years and driving mostly city now. But it is nice to have choices. I'm going to see what kind of deal I can get. If it isn't very good, I'll pass. Cox Chevy has shocked me in the past though.

I've driven the GXP with the auto and manual. It's a completely different car with the manual. You'll be surprised. |

Seems like a lot of people are deciding to go this route, but personally I wouldn't. I don't need a 4 door and after viewing a review of the 2016 SS by Randy Probst, it appears to be nearly 2 seconds slower around 1:30 lap time track than the 2014 SS. Looks like GM softened it up intentionally.
For Comparison @ Streets of Willow 2016 Camaro SS = 1:23.15 2014 SS sedan = 1:25.71 2016 SS sedan = 1:27.24 See 11:12 in video below for lap times of competitors.
